It was amazing, although we had to move to another branch, since the desired one was fully booked... please make sure you confirm with the hotel before accepting a booking..

Bad Choice

Booked and paid online.(it was only 2 hours begore booking in) At arriving at the hotel was told that they have no record of my booking or payment and that they were fully booked. Called for a manager who advised that they could assist with accommodation. After a 2 hour wait was then told we have to another R500 for 2 rooms. Accomodation was very poor with rooms clean but very little working in the room. Paid R1500 for a suite that had no bedside light, TV did not work, one small hand towel only, shower bad tiling and quite dangerous, noisy party upstairs. Very Bad experience

The stay was average, the receptionist was not there upon arrival. He did not know of the benefits associated with the purchase( breakfast was included in the site). The beds were 2 singles beds pushed together which is fine expect the beds were not the same and it was uncomfortable to lay in the middle.

Poor

We booked a 4slepper paid but got allocated with a 2sleeper room. The room we were given for starters it was small terrible view facing tools that are dumped of and Jojo tanks, also had no bar fridge as promise.. Sqiniseko who was our receptionist couldn't do much because hotel was fully booked on that day. But nevertheless the restaurant was exceptional good, enjoyed the pool and staff were very simplistic..but i our expectations were not met had to share a bed with my daughter, husband and i. Overall did not get what we paid for

Pleasant stay at the Ilawu

This is a value for money unlicensed hotel. Staff are are very friendly and helpful. Simple but good food served both in the evenings and at breakfast.

Not for relaxing, eat and feel good.

The following are my observations. 1. Bath room cubicle door was a nuisance, it was not closing. 2. No bath soap kept at all. 3. The room lighting was poor. 4. Window shutter did not close at all. Its lock was broken. 5. Breakfast cereals had nothing to select. No orange juice at all. Thank god the Chef was a gentleman who made omlette of my choice and later made vegetarian curry for me. God bless him. 6. The manager, and others were good, they allowed me to check in early as I had arrived early, and later on the last day, I had to wait longer since my bus was to leave at 3pm, they permitted me to wait in the lobby. 7. Overall, I was not happy inside my room, I kept myself busy outside. But will not experiment with these cheap hotels, although 750 Rands is not a small amount.

Nice location for a quick overnight stay

The Ilawu Hotel is very conveniently situated just outside the central business district, next to the Botanical Gardens. The staff were pleasant and the hotel is well maintained. Rooms were well appointed with DSTV and a nice shower. The bed was a major disappointment and the mattress past its usage period.

Our overall experience was very good. The hotel staff were courteous, efficient, and friendly. The hotel was very clean and safe. The owner went out of his way to make our stay very pleasant. We would recommend this hotel to anyone seeking mid-range accommodation.

Cama confortavel

Muito boa, porem tinhamos que pegar taxi pra tudo pois o hotel fica distante do centro e nao havia sequer um restaurante proximo que pudessemos ir a pe. O hotel em algumas noites ofereceu jantar (muito boa comida por sinal) mas queriamos sair e nao ficar no hotel. O hotel nao tinha um servico de transfer. O htel fica bem proximo do botanic garden e vale a pena visitar, belissimo. As pessoas do hotel sao simpaticas, educadas e prestativas. O quarto e muito bom, a cama e otima e a limpeza tambem com troca de toalhas diariamente.
