Whitewater Boaters' Delight...Studio very near the South Fork American River.
This second-floor studio is a perfect getaway for visiting boaters and outdoor enthusiasts. If you are lucky you can grab a kayak shuttle with our commercial river trips (not guaranteed), or if youâre interested in a rafting trip, we can arrange your adventure. Mountain and road bikers, runners, and hikers will be thrilled with what our area has to offer! The studio has a full-size fridge and stove/oven, a comfortable queen bed with a brand-new mattress, a day bed with a second twin pull-out, a couch, a dining table for four, and a beautiful view from the balcony porch with a perfect place to enjoy sunrise or sunset with a cup of coffee or a cocktail. Access to the river through a nearby campground (day use fees charged) is a five minute walk away.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay very much. Our daughter and her friends were camped at Camp Lotus and it was just a 2 minute drive away! We were comfortable and happy non-campers!

This place was perfect for our little family. It was comfortable and clean. We utilized the full kitchen. It was in a perfect location and close to the river. Great for rafting!
The unit was exactly as presented and very clean.
The pets were super friendly and, as a pet owner, it was extremely special to have that little connection to an animal while away.
Had a great time at Marcos listening to music and the river didnât disappoint!
A great find!
My daughter and I stayed in this studio for the weekend â it was incredibly clean, comfortable, and convenient. Our hosts were accessible but not at all intrusive. It was a perfect spot to enjoy a weekend of hiking and rafting. Iâd highly recommend!
Overall great experience and communication with host. Be aware there is a cute little cat that will likely be on the balcony calling for you early in the morning and anytime youâre out there. Not a problem for me personally but one guest I was allergic to cats and the kitty kept trying to get inside under the magnetic screen door, so we had to keep the door closed. Great location! Short walk to a campground on the river where you can get a day pass to access the river.. not SUP friendly but rafter friendly!
very clean and cozy! loved the full kitchen and lots of pillows and blankets made for extra cozy lo
My daughter and I enjoyed the above garage cabin for our 3 night stay. Lovely little town and country roads leading to the property. Hosts communicated well and we were pleasantly Greeted by the farm dogs and cat.
The unit definitely needed more cleaning before we arrived. The bathroom shower was the worst offender. There were cobwebs and spiders in the kitchen and across the table. Unfortunately there were hot water issues which an adult can handle but children do not understand and it was exhausting to shower them through their tears. The unit was about 90° inside when we arrived and impossible to sleep. The owners ask that you not run the AC during the day, which was impossible with my 24/7 morning sickness. We might have come at at really bad time so I don't want to give 3 stars for benefit of the doubt, so I am graciously giving 4. Adults could handle the uncomfortable stay but not the children, we had to make other accommodations for them. It has great potential but definitely needs TLC.
This sweet family runs the river rafting trips for Camp Lotus which is a short walk away. I sat in the river's rejuvenating waters every evening. The unit has everything for comfort including two friendly dogs and a cat who visit often. A family of 4 would be very comfortable in the spacious room. What a pleasure to have a full refrigerator and functional kitchen. I enjoyed sunset's rosy glow on the porch's vista of golden hillsides clumped with dark oaks, and would have loved the starry night except that the moon was one of the biggest and brightest of the year during my stay. I heard songbirds, distant roosters in the morning, cattle lowing, in the evening and an occasional woodpeckers tapping on the wall. The family composts and recycles, and there is a beautiful feeling of connection to Mother Earth there. I enjoyed the happy chatter of rafters packing out some mornings and packing in some evenings. and the friendly, easy, accepting atmosphere. I can't wait to return.
