Excellent place to stay near Bergerac

Stayed here May 2023 with a few friends and Serge and Beatrice's gîte was absolutely perfect! The facilities are excellent, hosts exceptionally friendly and the pool, gardens and surrounding area delightful. We loved Serge's collection of robots! Would definitely recommend to others and absolutely stay here again!

The gite was simply wonderful. From the moment we arrived Serge and Beatrice made us so welcome. Everything we could need was thought of and the gite was immaculate - the pool area in particular felt like a slice of paradise. We explored the local area, sampled food and wine from the markets and restaurants - the area, from the vineyards to the beautiful villages, is just stunning and the gite a perfect place from which to explore. This is a superb Gite which provided all the essentials to relax and enjoy our visit; including an extensive arrivals package. Both the Gite and garden are beautiful. The pool was large with extensive seating. The house was very comfortable and included air-conditioning in the bedrooms. Located just south of Bergerac town and the Dordogne it is ideally located to explore Saint-Emilion, Eymet, Issigeac, Monpazier, Molieres and beyond. Fabulous property with warm and welcoming hosts

This is a fabulous property so close to Bergerac. Serge & Beatrice are extremely welcoming hosts, who have put a huge amount of work into the pool and garden as well as providing outdoor games and bicycles. We spent most of our time at La Salagre out by the pool. Heated to approx 24 *, with beautiful planting, lots of sunbeds, both it and the immaculate garden are outstanding. Proximity to Bergerac is also a huge plus, with lots of lovely restaurants, bars and boutiques. We highly recommend a stay in La Salagre and will definitely be back!

Perfect tranquil hideaway

Property was beautiful and exactly as described. Our hosts were so friendly and helpful, even providing a welcome supper as our flight landed late on a Sunday. The apple tart was delicious. Serge could not have been more helpful in recommending places to visit, markets and the best local wines! We have no hesitation in recommending this property if you’re wanting a rural, tranquil stay, but not too far from places to visit.

The property is superb. It's exactly how it looks and described on the website - clean, comfortable, well furnished with great facilities - swimming pool and area around it, gardens, table tennis, pertanque, badminton, table football and bikes to hire. Perfection!

We had the most wonderful week at this beautiful gite. The pool and the gardens were wonderful for walks and for our dog to explore. Inside, the furnished property had thought of everything. Upon arrival, our hosts came to greet us and had prepared a beautiful fruit flan, jam and a bottle of wine. The gite is secluded and in the country, but close to vineyards and restaurants and very close to the town. We had a truly wonderful holiday.

This property is immaculate, totally equipped for a group of single ladies or families. The pool area is beautiful and the hosts have put so much thought into the gardens. There are some lovely spots to eat a meal whether you want to be in the sun or the shade, so catering for everyone. I couldn't recommend this part of France more, bergerac is a beautiful town with lots of great places to eat, grab a beer or just get an ice cream. The shopping is fab for gifts, clothes, market produce and also lovely jewellers. We will be returning to this fabulous villa next year!!!

We had a super stay at La Salagre. The property is in a lovely location surrounded by vineyards and had everything we needed for a great holiday. The pool and pool area are absolutely fantastic and a lovely place to relax. It was so hot that we made the most of the pool and the air conditioning in the bedrooms was great. Serge and Beatrice were lovely and friendly hosts who made us feel very welcome and had lots of suggestions for things to do. It was great being able to practice some French when speaking with them. I’d definitely recommend a stay in this gite. Thank you

All the 5* reviews don't do this Gite justice, it's so much better!The house, gardens and pool are an absolute delight. My wife and I stayed late May with my two kids (8 and 11) and my in-laws (70's) and everyone had a lovely stay.The house has everything you need, with plenty of space. Air-con was very much needed during the heatwave of our week and the electric shutters in the bedrooms kept the place cool. The outside is the real gem though, so much bigger than the pictures. Pool area is huge and so many seats and pool beds. The pool is heated and half shallow, half deep so great for the whole family to enjoy. There's an outdoor dining area and BBQ which was lovely plus so many game options - badminton, boules, football, rugby - easy to play in the acres of gardens. So many plants and beautifully manicured, there's even a cherry tree which timing was just right for fruit picking every morning. Location is spot on - you're 10-15 mins away from everything, countless Boulangeries, butchers, supermarkets and bergerac - a little further you've got beautiful market towns to enjoy too. And with the free bikes available to use there's even a bakery about 15-20 mins away through countryside lanes.Serge and Beatrice we're lovely hosts - available if needed, but left us to our own devices. The wine. homemade cake and handpicked cherries were a delight to arrive to.Thanks for a lovely stay, couldn't recommend more.

Stunning gardens and pool

Serge and Bea have created paradise in the Dordogne in the form of stunning gardens and a clean, warm pool in which our girls spent much of the week. So many places to sit and enjoy within the gardens that we barely felt the need to leave. Ping pong, table football, pétanque, badminton and bikes also kept us entertained. Lovely restaurants and degustastions nearby. Oh and the air conditioning kept us perfectly cool during the hot nights too. One of our favourite trips to France. Highly recommended.
