I liked the location having room on water side of hotel. Only thing was not having an elevator . Staff was great on changing room from 2nd floor to 1 st floor with a water view after my friend unable to go up stairs .

The Red Lion Port Angeles is a convenient, comfortable place to stay, probably for any reason, but particularly due to its proximity to the ferry to Victoria, BC. The room was large, clean and the bed comfortable. There were also 2 sinks in the bathroom, which made it even more convenient. We didn't take advantage of the restaurant, so can't comment on that. We would definitely consider staying here for our next stay in the area.

The Service Here Was Excellent

The staff here were excellent and very accommodating. The best that I've experienced at a hotel in a long time. The only reason that I didn't give them 5 stars is that when I reserved the room, I had asked for a top floor room, and the person that confirmed this didn't follow through on it. When I checked in, the excellent clerk that helped me upgraded me to a better room on the top floor when she realized that there were no longer any rooms on the top floor in the room class that I had reserved.

Walkable, easy parking. Wish the pool was indoors so it would stay open year round. Bathrooms need remodeling, tub too small and hardware rusting and falling apart. Despite this, the water pressure in the shower was great. We stayed here once before during 2021 and would return.

There was a hostess at 48 North their on site restaurant who didn’t offer bar seating and sad no tables available to us ( family of 3with my 42 year old daughter and my husband). We wanted a drink and dinner and there was room at the bar. She said what to make your food to go? Shocked we assumed she didn’t want us o we agreed to leave with take out food & no drinks! She was rude to us and assumed something about us! We didn’t argue and left that restaurant!

We loved our deluxe waterveiw room! It was very roomy and clean. Loved the balcony overlooking the water. So close to restaurants, hiking paths, shopping, and a tide pool aquarium. We highly recommend!

Great location and view- but that's about where it stops. Room was suprisingly dirty (mold and previous guests hair in the shower). Also, not soundproof (AT ALL) as the listing claims. Booked a premium room and heard people going up and down the stair, as well as the door into the hotel open and close constantly. The room door to the hallway had a 1.5 inch or more gap at the bottom- so not suprised we could hear everything. Our room was also near the restaurant/ bar on the property and could hear the music in our room throughout the weekend evenings- not a huge deal for us but worth noting. Overall, left feeling disappointed.

The check in was good and clean. The area rugs and stairs up to the 2nd floor were not clean. But more to the point the pool, spa and restaurant were all closed. Oh, by the way it was an extra $30 for a view room. That was not made clear on the reservation site.

The hotel was nice, and the staff was friendly, but there was a strong paint-like smell in the hallway that spread into the room. It wasn’t coming directly from the room, but it was still quite bothersome. Since I was only staying for one night, I didn't request a room change, but the smell was really unpleasant. For anyone staying here, I recommend asking for a room change if you notice the smell at any point—it can definitely affect your experience.
