Large SE Apartment • Walk to Eats • 1BR • Sleeps 4
Summary:
If you're a fan of great food, craft beer, and pour-over coffee, this is your place! In the famous Buckman District, my apartment is near Portland’s top-rated restaurants, bars, and vintage shops—perfect for people-watching. Great for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers, it’s a convenient home base near all the hot spots.
The Space:
Tastefully furnished in true Portland fashion, this apartment exudes unique charm and character.
The space is cozy and inviting, with large windows that flood the rooms with natural light. The comfortable mattress ensures a restful sleep, and on those rainy days, you can cuddle up and watch movies on the 55" LED flat-screen Smart TV, complete with Netflix and blazing fast WiFi for all your streaming needs. There is a designated 1 bedroom and a pull out trundle bed in the living room.
The workspace area is the kitchen dining nook bar table with stools.
If you prefer dining in, the fully equipped kitchen is perfect for preparing meals and hosting your crew. After a day spent exploring the city’s shops and restaurants, you’ll love returning to the super comfy queen-size bed for a great night’s sleep. While the apartment is equipped with heating to keep you warm in the winter, please note that it currently does not have A/C. However, the natural ventilation and temperate Portland climate should keep you comfortable year-round. The entry to this building has about 10 stairs to access main door.
Thank you for considering our place, we hope to welcome you soon!
Guest Access:
You will have the convenience and privacy of coming and going as you please with a secure lock box on site to access the apartment keys. You’ll receive the lock box code in the booking confirmation.
The Neighborhood:
Commonly known as “Foodie Row,” the Hawthorne/Buckman District places you within walking distance of a wide variety of top-notch local flavors—no chain restaurants here! Enjoy vegan poutine fries and grilled PB&Js at the Cartopia food cart pod, share a pie at Apizza Scholls (consistently voted Portland’s favorite pizza), or opt for an elegant night out at Castagna—all within a 1.5-mile stretch.
But Portland isn’t just for foodies. The vibrant indie spirit of Hawthorne is alive with a multitude of made-in-Oregon shops and boutiques, making it a true hipster haven. Catch a movie at Bagdad Theater and Pub, a revamped 1920s theater turned view-and-brew venue serving local McMenamins food and microbrews.
If bar hopping through neighborhoods isn’t your idea of recreation, head up to Mt. Tabor. This 196-acre city park, located atop a dormant volcano vent, offers miles of hiking trails and incredible panoramic views of the city, providing a perfect escape into nature right within the city limits. Whether you're a foodie, a nature enthusiast, or someone who loves exploring unique shops, the Hawthorne/Buckman District has something special for everyone.
Getting Around:
Staying at our Airbnb places you in the heart of one of Portland's most vibrant and accessible neighborhoods. With a WalkScore® of 91, you’ll find that many of the city’s top attractions, dining spots, and shops are just a short stroll away. The neighborhood's pedestrian-friendly streets make it easy to enjoy a leisurely walk to nearby cafes, restaurants, and unique boutiques.
For those who prefer cycling, Portland is renowned for its bike-friendly infrastructure. You'll find numerous bike lanes and paths throughout the area, allowing you to explore the city on two wheels. Bike rentals are available at several nearby shops if you don’t have your own bike, offering a fun and eco-friendly way to get around.
Public transportation is another excellent option for getting around. Several bus lines have stops within a short walking distance, providing direct routes to downtown Portland, the Pearl District, and other key areas. The #14 and #15 buses are particularly convenient, with frequent service that makes commuting a breeze. Additionally, the Portland Streetcar and MAX Light Rail are easily accessible, offering an efficient and scenic way to travel through the city.
If you prefer rideshare services, both Uber and Lyft are widely available and provide a quick and convenient way to get around. Traditional taxis can also be hailed or scheduled in advance, offering another reliable transportation option.
For those with a car, on-street parking is available in the neighborhood, though it may be limited during peak hours. Be sure to check for any parking restrictions to avoid fines. There are also nearby parking garages and lots that offer hourly or daily rates if you need more secure or extended parking options.
Whether you're walking, biking, using public transportation, or driving, staying at here ensures you have easy access to all that Portland has to offer. Enjoy your stay and happy exploring!
Other Things to Note:
There is not a washer and dryer in the unit, but you'll have access to coin-operated laundry facilities within the complex.
*Note that there may be noise from neighboring units, we are more than happy to provide earplugs and a noise machine, to help ensure a restful night!*
