Definitely choose to stay here!

We had a wonderful stay here. Lovely hotel with a gorgeous garden and swimming pool, friendly staff, convenient setting. Lots of shops, cafes and a metro nearby, easy enough to walk into Porto too. The room was clean, cool and comfortable and the garden really made it special. Great breakfast too! Staff were so helpful and welcoming. We’ll be back when we visit Porto again.

Wonderful hotel with fabulous staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The pool im the garden was a lovely addition. Room was spacious and well appointed. Highly recommended.

A beautiful hotel in a convenient location to get into town. The pool was a huge bonus, the breakfast was good and the room was comfortable. Other guests could be quite noisy in the corridors which we heard in our room - not the fault of the hotel but perhaps some signage in the halls asking for quiet especially during nighttime hours could be helpful. The only area I have to mark down on is the housekeeping could have been better - the coffee station in the room wasn't refilled, and the glasses we used were taken away/not replaced.

Beautiful and comfortable hotel.

We’ve just spent a week in this beautiful hotel and it was everything I had hoped it would be. The building has been renovated and decorated in perfect keeping with its historic architectural style whilst adding modern comfortable features. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the breakfasts fabulous.

Initially we were a bit disappointed as the room we were given was quite dark and in the annex to the main buiding, and it necessitated going on to the main road to the main building (using key cards) for breakfast and the gardens / swimming pool. We moved rooms for the 2nd night and the experience was so much better - a room in the main building with a large balcony. Make sure you ask for eggs with your breakfast if you want them as they're cooked to order, but we weren't told on our first day so didnt realsie they were included.

Great small hotel in a great location.

We have just spent 3 nights at the Marques Garden House by Olivia in Porto and are absolutely delighted by the experience. The hotel is small in terms of the number of rooms however the rooms are a good size. Our room was on the top floor and there is no lift but we managed the stairs very well. The hotel has been converted from i assume a private dwelling at some point. Care has been taken to retain as many of the original features as possible and yet give the modern traveller everything you need. The staff are very welcoming with Carol deserving a special mention. If you like staying in branded hotels this is not for you, but if you like different and quirky this is great. It's location is excellent, out from the centre surrounded by locals but an easy walk or even easier metro ride to all of the action.

Located next to the subway in a very quiet neighborhood, the juror suite is a good size for a family of four. The breakfast quality is excellent. Highly recommended.

The staff at the hotel were all lovely, nothing was too much trouble. The ambience is great and the original aspects of the decor lovely. The garden and pool were very relaxing. Also incredibly convenient for the metro.

We stayed three nights and really enjoyed the combination of easy access to the city via tube station right across the street and a nice, serene backyard with lovely pool to relax in the afternoon sun. The staff were excellent: polite happy service with a smile!
