We love the location and ambiance of our room. Our stay was short but sweet! We ate at the Black Trumpet, Great food and service. Downtown Portsmouth has great restaurants and shopping as well. A must stop when you’re in the area.

The accommodation is located in a charming historic building in a great vibrant village-like town. The interior space has a mid mod vibe, and is spacious, and easy to use. Had a nice dinner, as recommended, a nice walk to the waterfront and a nice ice cream. Pretty perfect!

The Inn Downtown was in a good area for walking, shopping and eating downtown. We were charged a $50 fee to check-in early even though our room was ready and the cost could have been easily waved. The pillows were so stuffed we couldn’t sleep on them without hurting our necks. Also, there was no wine opener for the wine we opened that they provided, and we couldn’t figure out how to turn the coffee maker on. The building is cool and the history is awesome.

Room was so charming and clean. Everything looked so neat first walking into the room. When originally booking the room, I was no aware of the history of it and made my partner fall in love with the place more. It’s in perfect location to all the stores and restaurants Portsmouth has to offer. Would stay here again, and recommend to others.

Historic and Charming Inn

The Inn Downtown was very charming, well-appointed, clean, and extremely convenient to everything that downtown Portsmouth has to offer. The arrangements for check-in and check-out were straightforward, and the communications from the owner/manager were excellent. We will definitely stay there again.
