Avis pour Old Milford - Modern Home 5 Minutes from Picton
We enjoyed the quiet natural surroundings - especially with the Autumn sun on the comfortable deck furniture. The house is very attractive inside- well planned layout & attractive modern decor. As older adults we kept to the showers rather than trying the free standing beautiful tub. Everything was clean & in good order.
We were in Picton area for a family wedding and found our VRBO to meet all of our needs. The layout worked very well for our family as did the location being a short drive from everywhere we spent time. Having the Sandbanks pass available was a nice bonus!
Had a great girls getaway at this beautiful property. The house was spacious, bright, clean and comfortable. The owner had great communication and checked in throughout our stay for any questions/concerns. I literally have no issues to mention. The house was a very short drive to downtown Picton. Property was kocated on a quiet road that was so peaceful to enjoy.
We stayed 2 nights in this home, it was just as the photos depicted, it was clean, nice furniture and design. The location was what we were looking for - close to picton where there were some great food and coffee options and close to the venue we were attending: 100 acre wood. Everything worked well except the water pressure in the showers were quite low. We thought the first night it was because 2 people were showering at the same time, but we tried again and that wasnât it. The temperature was fine but it felt like there just wasnât enough water flowing through the shower, especially in the master en-suite bathroom, it was a little cooler during the end of May and so showers felt very cold. This was the only reason I did not give it full 5 stars. Everything else was great - would recommend.
The interior of the home is quite lovely. The outdoor wraparound deck was not as advertised as there was not one piece of furniture, no table to dine at outside, no chairs or lounges. Very disappointing. There was only a deck box filled with cushions for the non-existent furniture. And had we wished to explore or enjoy the fire pit, we would have had to walk through a foot long field of grass and weeds which had obviously not been cut since last Fall! The photos and description of the property were misleading. The BBQ lid had been left open and a large pool of rain water was laying in the drip pan. The tongs were left on the deck box covered in food and grease particles. The BBQ was very much in need of cleaning as was the oven in the kitchen. Something had obviously boiled over, which had not been cleaned up from the previous renters. This caused a very unpleasant odour when we used the oven. The sliding door to the on-suite bathroom was off its rail and was extremely difficult to pull it closed.Had this propertyâs deck, yard and outdoor furniture been as the photos showed, it would have deserved a 5 star rating. As it was not as advertised and very disappointing to the enjoyment of our weekend, I can only offer a 3 star at best.
This rental is minutes away from Sandbanks Provincial Park. Itâs a great home base for visiting the wineryâs. Seven minutes away from Main Street Picton, where you can get your groceries and the LCBO. It is situated in a rural setting with lots of privacy. The unit is well layed out for a group (we were 6 adults) with three very comfortable rooms and two washrooms. Very clean and well decorated. Much larger than it appears in the photos on line. Parking for three cars, maybe four. It is situated on a large lot with a fire pit and comfortable Muskoka chairs. The large deck has a BBQ and comfortable seating for your evening drinks. Also has is a table for eating outside. Communications with the proprietor, Parker, was very smooth and easy.
So I would highly recommend this rental for families or just a small group of friends.
