I would strongly suggest that if you are British you book elsewhere. We did a two day stop off before the ferry from Santander to Plymouth after driving all through Spain. This is the only place throughout our travels that we felt we were unwelcome by both staff and customers.
If we could have got an earlier ferry to cut the trip short we would have done. Beautiful hotel, but they are catering for Spanish on holiday and are only tolerating customers from other areas it seems.

Lovely hotel in a very pretty valley. Staff were OK. Lovely grounds but bit too cool to use outside pool.

Nice stay in a good location
Posted Sep. 18, 2021 on HotelsWe enjoyed our stay. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. The staff helpful and accommodating. My only complaint is that our room wasn’t ready when we arrived (right at the check-in time). The breakfast was very good but a bit pricey. We came to Puente Viesgo so we could visit the Cueva de El Castillo and the hotel is within walking distance.

The Balneario looks almost new. They go to great lengths to ensure cleanliness. It is minutes away from the great Paleolithic Art caves. There areńt that many great cafes for food, but acceptable. The beds are very comfortable, breakfast buffet is handled such that safety is paramount and has a few items missing from others. There are not many options in the area so and is a great option. Staff very helpful. Concierge is great!

The spa was extraordinary. The town was beautiful. If going to the caves, drive ,the walk is too steep.

Great hotel with modern rooms, central in town

Pros: Excellent location, within walking distance of whole town.
Cons: Floor heating to be turned off in spring!
Location: Great walking track the other side of the bridge and beside river.
We had a very large room with twin double beds, which were comfortable. Two opening windows and very modern ensuite. All really good. Had a comfortable stay.
