Our Costa Rica beach house rentals offer:
A perfect location: right on a gorgeous beach (and near several others), with a spectacular view, in the rainforest, surrounded by abundant wildlife and scenery. A handcrafted, clean and safe vacation rental home, from which to enjoy your fantastic surroundings. Many activities for the whole family. Three other bamboo rentals, equally wonderful. When natives of Costa Rica greet each other, they often say âPura Vida,â or pure life. When you visit Casa Pina, youâll truly understand what this means
This is an amazing property in Matapalo in the southern tip of the Osa Peninsula. The house itself is beautiful and well kempt. We experienced hours of enjoyment watching monkeys, tropical birds, pizotes, cuatis, fireflies and other beautiful creatures pass through the yard. Wow! Kirk is a great host and he has a wonderful staff including Willian who helped us with our daily needs and took us on a tour of Corcovado National Park. We had an awesome visit!
Great stay! Super clean, everything we needed in a simple kitchen. Beds cozy. Wildlife all around, sliver of ocean view/sunrise and 3 min walk to swimming beach. Surf breaks up and down coast. Some traffic noise because of loud motorcycles & backfiring cars :), but mostly quiet after dark. Utilized William for tours & Leda for meals- both very talented. Used the walkie-talkie to communicate with office and for making reservations with Lapa Rios (birdwatching) & Encanta La Vida (dinner) Space for everyone. Wouldn't have minded another sitting (cushioned) chair in the master bedroom and lower bedrooms for private chill time. Cold showers inside and out were very welcome. Loud thunderstorms at night and howler monkeys made the stay electric and alive!
From the first day of reserving this property, Kirk and Elena were so helpful in providing information and answering our questions. They responded quickly.
The property is lovely, comfortable, and safe.
William is a great tour guide. The boat ride with Capt Josh was well worth the time and money.
Everyone in our group had a great time and would come back again. This property is a gem, and the hosts are great people!
Beautiful property, beautiful house, beautiful pleace
the houses despite being made of bamboo and in contact with the salitre of the sea receive the best maintenance ever seen by William
The house was perfect for our 2-family group. The wildlife on the property is amazing--monkeys galore, exotic birds, a beautiful weasel called a tayra, an armadillo, and even a sloth. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Kirk and his manager William were both very responsive and helpful. William is very knowledgeable about the local wildlife. He took us to Corcovado, and as a special bonus, to see a rare potoo bird. Would definitely recommend for the adventurous traveler!
We loved staying in the Bamboo Casa Pina, everything as described and more! The abundance of monkeys, fireflies, bird life, butterflies and more! Clean and neat accommodation, great staff, (especially William the guide on our hike) informative and great attention to detail. Highly recommend this place!
Casa Piña was exactly what we had hoped for- an open air house with wildlife right in the backyard. The size was perfect for the 5 of us with a good sized kitchen, dining table, and comfortable beds. The house was very clean. The best part was the porch where we could enjoy the monkeys and birds. We also appreciated all of Kirkâs recommendations for activities, hotel in San Jose, rental car, etc . William was helpful and gave a great tour of Corcovado. If you are looking to get away and enjoy quiet and nature, this is the place for you.
We just returned from a fabulous stay in Casa Pina with our family of 5 â kids ages 9, 8, and 4. This looks like the first review for this house but you can actually find others under âCasa Bambuâ here and TripAdvisor. The location is absolutely beautiful with the perfect combination of jungle and beach. Our favorite part of the house was the open air living room and that's where we spent most of our time. We really enjoyed watching all the wildlife at Casa Pina from our front deck/living room. Casa Pina seems to be situated right on a main corridor for the monkeys so we were able to see many of them travel across throughout the day and take huge leaps from tree to tree. During our stay, we saw most of the wildlife not from our hikes but from our own home including scarlet macawsâŠmy boys loved the iguana, bats, and hermit crabs too.
One of our favorite parts was the sounds of the jungleâŠwe woke up to the sounds of howler monkeys, birds, and waves and went to bed with frogs, cicadas, and (of course) waves. I think that is what I missed the most my first morning back at our house in California.
I had planned on having the ladies cook for us each night but after a bit in Costa Rica, my boys begged me to cook some of the dishes we eat at home. I cook a lot so it was fun for me to get hands on and experience cooking in the jungle. But after 3 days of cooking, I think I appreciated the ladies even more. I was surprised that as soon as the meal was set on the table, dishes were already done and kitchen was spotless! That allowed lots of extra time on those nights for reading, playing cards, etc. The kitchen had everything we needed.
Kirk helped us arrange tours including horseback ride with waterfall & tree climb, dolphin boat tour, and Osa Palmas canopy tour. We loved them all but the horseback ride with the highlight of our Costa Rica trip for my kids. We were glad we rented a car because we had more flexibility to explore the area, go back to the store once, and try local restaurants.
We had a wonderful time and hope we can make it back to Casa Pina one day!
