Horrible stay!
Check in was sketchy. The keys in the lock box didn't work in the door. I messaged the host who said it was a "mistake" and it was really another unit. So we went to that unit. But it was clearly not the unit pictured - bathrooms and kitchen were primitive. We messaged the host again who said we could have the original unit and he would meet us there in half an hour. We went back to original unit. Host and wife arrived and let us in. We were told a previous renter was coming by and cutting off the electricity so they thought we would be better in the other unit. Not very reassuring. We couldn't sleep because we were worried the electricity would be cut off.
But the next morning in the daylight, we were dismayed. First of all it was really dirty. We spent hours the first day cleaning. Our friend came over with a vacuum, broom, mop and bucket and we swept and mopped the floors, cleaned the filthy refrigerator and every surface, and vacuumed cob webs and bugs from every corner and even the walls. The trash can was full of dirty, black paper towels when were finished. We also washed the sheets because it was obvious the place had not been cleaned and at this point we didn't trust that the sheets had been washed.
After that it seemed like we could stay - at least the place was clean. We received one hand towel and one bath towel each and were told we could have fresh ones in a week. There was a partial roll of toilet paper in each bathroom. There were no paper towels in the kitchen. We bought paper towels. bathroom tissue etc.
The next day we received a message from VRBO that we owed an additional amount of money (quite a bit!) for two extra guests! We didn't have two extra guests! The host ignored my message asking about the charge.
The third morning I woke up with a back ache so severe I couldn't walk. The mattresses were so bad. My daughter also had a back ache. It was clear we couldn't stay. No only were the mattresses horrible but we couldn't leave the front doors open for a breeze because the screens were torn. I asked for a refund, which was of course denied, but we left anyway because it was impossible to stay with such horrible mattresses, torn screens, etc.
There is so much more wrong with this place that I haven't included here- not to mention the sketchy owner and host. Don't stay here.
