We had a wonderful time at Bahia Principe! Our room was spotless, the food was delicious, especially the meat dishes at the Palmyra restaurant and the entertainment was top-notch. The staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming. The only downside was the beach, which had quite a bit of algae, but aside from that, we truly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back!

Staff and property are amazing. Food is great especially at MEAT and TAINO restaurant. Entertainment team was fun. Only thing to keep in mind is that shower in rooms are opened, hence, sharing rooms can be a bit challenging. Overall great place!

Overall had a positive experience. Stayed here for 4 days in early June. Was a bit disappointed from the beach front due to sargassum but that’s on me. Should have done my research on the season. Staff is friendly for the most part and very helpful. Concierge service is hit or miss as sometimes they’re rude or sound annoyed when you call with a question or to ask for a service. Food at buffets was “substandard” they advertise unlimited dine-in at their A la Carte restaurants but you only get one reservation per night you’re staying. Which was disappointing considering that was about the only place you could get a good meal. And they are only open for dinner. The grill at the main Ambar buffet was also good. Room service food menu was very limited and quality was questionable. Fruits and bolognese pasta was good but if you’re staying for anything over two days that gets repetitive. Other than that rooms, and property all around was very clean and neatly kept.

The property was very nice, and well connected to a very large overall resort, so we were able to go to neighboring properties if we wanted to. The main thing we didn't like was the huge amount of seaweed that is constantly washing up on the coast. It makes it so you can't really get in the water, although many did, but it has quite an offensive odor. I realize that this is no fault of Bahia, however, there was a resort right next door that seemed to do a lot better job of keeping the seaweed away from the beach. There are many options for eating; some great, others not as good, so you have to just kind of try everything and see what you like and what you don't, but the food was very good overall, and there was a ton of variety. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Some of the things are unorganized, but I feel like that's just the DR way. For instance, transportation is very vague. From the time you land, you better make sure you have already made a direct connection with the resort in order to line up transportation. Also, if you do any excursions, make sure you get on the right bus to go back to the resort, because they'll just let you get on any bus you want, and they don't all go to the resort you're staying in! The final thing I'll say is bring lots of cash in small bills. They expect to be tipped everywhere you go, all day long, and I was not quite prepared for that. You don't have to tip a lot, but just be prepared for that.
