Quiet home on horse farm, halfway between Paducah & Wickliffe. Close to 60 & 286
Built originally in the 40s by my father-in-law for his new bride, this home raised my husband and his four siblings. The property has been owned by this family since the 1880s. It was a general farm, then a dedicated dairy farm until the early 1990s. When the dairy operation sold out, we bought the home place and some surrounding acreage. My daughter and her husband now live down near the barns and manage it as an equine facility. We live a few miles away. The Redhouse is between Highways 60 and 286, easily gotten to from highway 2532(County Line Rd), which connects the two state highways. The house has a Ring camera at the front door now. No cameras inside.
Mature Trees, Sounds of Nature, Getaway on a working Farm
I walked around the property one morning and saw mature and diverse Trees (in various stages of growth and some even with fruit), Grapes growing on a fence, Hens, and more. The house is spacious with beautiful artwork and decor.I was also able to have a tour of the current farming operations, and learn some of its history too!I do plan to return.
The Red House is in a quiet area and was well stocked with any and everything you might need. The host even provided fresh eggs and muffins for breakfast!!! If we are ever back in the area we will stay here again.
5 star on the check in process. Seriously, it canât be easier. 5 star on cleanliness. 5 star on communication. It was very convenient for what I had going on.
This little house is my favorite place to stay near Paducah. The house is old, but is very well maintained and super clean. The owners obviously take very good care of this little place. The only caution is the stairs. You have to be able to climb stairs to get in, and one bed room and the laundry area are accessible by stairs. The property is close enough to Paducah, but is out in the country in a beautiful part of the county. The hosts make check in and check out really easy, and do a fantastic job managing this little place.
This farmhouse has been meticulously and thoroughly remodeled and updated. It is spotlessly clean and decorated so well. It is quiet and pastoral. One morning during our dog walk, 15 deer ran through the front yard. We spent 4 lovely nights here.
My husband and I had to make a quick trip up to KY to support a dear pastor, his wife, his church and a dear missionary sister. We were Blessed to find some days available at the Red House....as I had previously rented it for my missionary sister in CHRIST. (She helped coordinate volunteer teams to rebuild Mayfield after the tornado destroyed so many homes,...& we wanted to gift her with some respite time for herself.). The red house proved WONDERFUL for that first time (with our missionary sister in CHRIST...and it proved to be a really nice (clean and peaceful) place in which my dear husband and I could rest, in btw visits with our dear Mayfield friends. Communication was easy, quick and fun...bc the host is always attentive to your needs...while also giving you much privacy in a peaceful setting. THANK you!
We absolutely loved staying here. The house was so warm and inviting. She left us fresh farm eggs, muffins, butter and snacks. We were there for 5 days and enjoyed just being there. It was delightful to hear the rooster crow in the morning and go outside with our little dog and look at the horses. The home was immaculate and we had everything we needed. Looking forward to staying there again.
Absolutely loved this rental! From the moment we walked in we felt at home. All the beds were very comfy and the entire home was very clean. The kitchen had everything we needed and more! We loved the setting and will most definitely be staying again.
This was our second time staying at this property while home to visit family nearby in Paducah. Wonderful location in the country and such lovey home. Highly recommend this property!
Peace and quiet abound at this place. Lots of room outside to enjoy and charm inside. Mattress was very comfortable sleeping and kitchen well stocked for cooking, something we wanted to do. Nice that breakfast options provided.
Once Again, we had the most Fantastic & peaceful stay @ the Red House. It was IMMACULATE & cozy. We enjoyed a much needed peaceful get away & were able to visit friends in the area. This was our longest stay & weâre very grateful for the washer & dryer so I was able to keep up with laundry. Jayna is the HOSTESS WITH THE MOSTEST!!!! Weâll be back.
My childhood friend and I met halfway to stay at the red farmhouse in the country! We both grew up on farms in iowa and we couldnât have asked for a more comfortable, peaceful stay! We had everything we needed and enjoyed quiet walks looking at the farmland and watching the horses nearby. Would highly recommend. Host was very easy to have contact with and helped with directions which was appreciated.
The house was very clean and cozy and my husband really enjoyed staying here for the month! It was such a nice neighborhood. My children stayed a couple of nights and loved watching the beautiful horses. The owner was super friendly and prompt to respond to messages as well. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this house to friends and family!
