Cosy cottage w modern facilities on 10 acres farm

Enjoy a getaway at a rural cottage with modern facilities very close to Raetihi township. Set on 10 acres, this modernised cosy dwelling in a private setting features super-comfortable and stylish furnishings, and contemporary artworks featured in every room. You'll also enjoy a large deck, wood burner, a bathtub, infinity gas hot water (meaning hot showers for everyone!)

Very conveniently located for a ski break at just 35-40 mins drive to the top of either of Mt Ruapehu's ski areas - plus, you get the added bonus of a relaxing holiday in the country. The house is cosy and warm, with the wood burning stove heating up the whole house in no time, while adding a gorgeous ambiance.

This property has been fitted out with everything you need for a comfortable bach stay. Fully equipped kitchen with new appliances. Massive couch and lounging chairs, including two chaise-style loungers, so you can put your feet up after your day's activities.

While a perfect winter base for skiing / boarding, Farm Cottage also offers a relaxing retreat for a summer adventure in the Central Plateau. An amazing north-facing view of the mountain from the top of the property (great place for a summer picnic), lovely on-site walks with a pond, pines and native trees, and animals grazing in the pasture all around.

Mountain biking tracks,stunning hikes (including the world-famous Tongariro Crossing) and trips to the Whanganui River (take a canoe or jet boat to the 'Bridge to Nowhere') all within easy reach.

House trained pets are welcome (please note that our fences are farm wire fences, so they will not keep your animals from wandering - you will need to tie them up if they're kept outside and you're concerned about this).

Board games, books, DVDs, and lots of wine glasses for your use. TV and DVD / Bluray player (note: no Sky/Freeview). Reliable mobile coverage with Spark and Vodafone.

We fell in love with this place. It was exacrly what we were looking for and perfect for our little family (2 adults, 9 year old, and dog). Its not far from Ohakune at all and worth the distance in my opinion to have somewhere remote and away from the tourist madness during the peak season. It was very clean, well appointed, and we are definitely looking forward to booking this place in the future. It was a little difficult to find but all the good treasures are. Thank you very much for having us!

Such a beautiful farm and a cozy cottage, especially with the warm fire going! Communicating with the host was easy and had good directions to find the place. We will miss this cottage but hopefully we will find ourselves staying here again!

Cosy and private - we loved it

Loved staying here! Kitchen has everything you need, and plenty of firewood to keep you warm. Check in process was super easy with clear instructions. All rooms have a window facing the pond which is a nice touch. Very impressed with the book and board game selection, I’ll be definitely be going back!!

The house was satisfactory for one night, but I was disappointed that the property was so hard to find!! I thought with the detailed instructions and the map it would be easy, but it wasn't! Pls consider adding the street number to your information. The place was cleanish, but not spotless which was disappointing. It was the middle of winter, and the woodburner was great, but the heaters and the hot water weren't very effective. We also couldn't get any reception on the TV. Other than that the place was good, but I'd only return if it wasn't winter.

Magical !!!

What a gem of a spot ! Really peaceful and private -felt like living in a forest but comfortable!!place modern and clean and great set up to relax 
 easy access to great walks and kayaking - dog loved it too !! Highly recommend ! Martin a pure joy to communicate with ,and super accommodating and helpful with adding extra nights here ,when we didn’t want to leave ! 😃

Comfortable and convenient

Lovely having a fire and plenty of hot water in the modern shower and kitchen. Furniture for everyone's needs, although one bedroom pretty crowded. A great base for exploring the region and the dog loved the endless supply of pinecones to play chasing with.

While it is a compact cottage, it is beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. Except a welcome pack or instructions for using the TV & DVD. Still don't know if you can get the basic tv channels as we were unsuccessful. Shame it's so close to the road as we heard a lot of traffic. Adding some rain cover to the pagoda, especially over the front door would be helpful as we hit a rainy few days. And an inside door mat to wipe your feet;)

Warm cosy house

The stay was short but did us well, woke to ducklings paddling in the pond near the house, very cute . The bush driveway to house is a beautiful entrance. The house itself was very cosy and warm and well equipped. Thank you for adjusting our booking to suit us. If you are wanting a quiet country, relaxing place close to Oakune, this is worth it

Highly recommend this cottage tucked away behind pine forest in a quiet location. Cottage was clean, tidy, stylish with everything you need to enjoy your stay including dry firewood for the log burner. Lots of books to read and board games. We wished we could have stayed another couple of nights. Just 10 mins from Oakune too!

Character and Charm

We loved our stay. We were just passing through but I really wish I'd had longer. It was a charming cottage with all the amenities, including some friendly horses right next door! My dog, Juno, was so relaxed and it was a perfect spot to decompress. The artwork and oodles of books made it extra special. The kitchen is well stocked. The place was clean and tidy and there was lots of wood and kindling for the fire. The ONLY thing I would have loved (and my one small suggestion) would be a map of the property and an idea of where the trails are located. I also had no idea how to get the TV to work and there were no instructions. But with all the reading options, it was probably a blessing. Great hosts, they were very communicative and helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at this beautiful spot. Thank you!
