Moosehead Lodge is the cutest western place to stay! It is not a chain, has the personal family touch, attention to detail, good price, great restaurant across the street and hometown charm. Will return!

The only complaint was that the freshener in the cabin was very over powering. I am one of those that has sensitivity to some scents. Otherwise it was a very pleasant stay, cute cabins.

Book a cabin not the lodge

The add is very misleading as it appears rooms are all cabins. This is not the case. We were given a room in the lodge (which is a fancy term in this case for dorm). The room was very small and the bed way too soft/overused. As we were only staying for one night this all would have been ok but the building is so loud. There is a communal shared kitchen in the front so you hear people walking around all the time, if someone coughs the whole building hears, and the room doors are swollen/not hung right so they have to the forcefully pulled shut…this is loud and we had to listen to off and on until 11pm Outside of the lodge, the grounds seemed nice. The Jacuzzi set up is cute and there’s a pizza restaurant right across the street. If we’d stayed in a cabin, I probably would’ve given this a great review but staying in the lodge was not enjoyable and it was not made clear that this was the situation when I made the booking. There are a few lovely cats so that was the highlight….

Deliberately lies about pet policy, can't stock TP

I don't understand how this place has 9.0 stars. No one at the desk at 9:13 pm arrival, key left in a mailbox. The listing on hotels.com lists that they are pet friendly and mentions a very specific pet policy. Every single door at the facility has a sign that says no pets. The door is locked with a simple bedroom lock and there is a three inch gap between the floor and the bottom of the door. The bed was lumpy and they left a third of a roll of toilet paper with no back up. I had to go out to the car and check on our poor dog at 4 am and to get TP. There was a random staff member sitting at a table in the "lodge" who asked what room I was in without identifying themselves as an employee. No offer of assistance, no greeting just "would you mind telling me what room you're in" at 425 am. If you want to feel secure and safe, do not stay here. If you want to be lied to about a pet policy, you want a bedroom door between you and strangers, and you want a poorly stocked room, then go ahead and book yourself a room here.

A Delightful Stay

A delightful place to stay with value rates. I was in the lodge with an adequate room and amenities for one night stopover on my trip north. Especially liked the little alcove type room for coffee, tea, breakfast nook. Would stay again should I find myself in Town.

The place was awesome, on the down side is that the cabins are right on the main highway so it’s a little hard to sleep in. Hot tub and wood fired sauna are wonderful. Plan on going back for another stay
