Our family of four (with older kids) had a peaceful and memorable stay at this cozy lakefront cottage. The setting is stunning—perfect for disconnecting and enjoying nature. The cottage is right on the water with a dock (no beach, but several are nearby), and we loved kayaking and watching sunsets from the deck. Some rooms are a bit tight, and Frye Island’s ferry access and dirt roads can be inconvenient—but if you’re looking for quiet, beauty, and simplicity, it’s worth it. The owner was incredibly easy and flexible to work with, which made everything smooth.Highly recommend for families wanting a slower pace and beautiful surroundings.

I rented this cottage for the 2nd year in a row of a now-annual Labor Day lake trip with my friends (20-27 year age range). Ernesto was very easy to coordinate with and made sure we had everything we needed in advance of our arrival both times we have stayed here. My friends commented on the cottage having a very distinct charm; it has a very cozy interior and a porch with a gorgeous view of the lake (particularly for sunrise as the cottage is on the sunrise side of the island) and plenty of space to lounge and eat. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could need to cook and serve food; there is also a large grill which I found easy to use and you have the option of eating at the inside dining room table or the porch. The lake is very accessible from the cottage; there's a path leading from the porch stairs down to the dock and a large rock in the water where you can sunbathe or jump into the water. There was sun until late afternoon. The cottage is also only a 15 minute walk from Frye's Leap Cafe and General Store; we went and got ice cream from there each day of our stay. There are also a few very nice sandy beaches nearby. The cabin was overall very neat and clean, however do expect bugs and leaves to fall on the porch since the cottage is very immersed in the woods and close to the water. Nights felt very cozy, we watched several movies on the Roku but there were also DVD and VHS players you could use. Overall we had a blast and would recommend a stay here!!

We stayed in this cozy and charming cottage for a long weekend and had a great time. It’s very quiet and surrounded by woods  - a perfect place to relax. The view to the lake from the deck and various rooms is spectacular and we enjoyed the direct access to the lake, “footsteps away”. Having breakfast, lunch or dinner on the porch surrounded by nature is wonderful. The little store and restaurant at the ferry station can be reached by a nice short walk. The kitchen was well equipped. Some of the bedrooms are a little bit small, but we liked it. The communication with the owner was very easy. We would love to come back someday.
