You get what you pay for

Ultimately you get what you pay for. I stayed in room 200. The room was clean and the bed comfortable but overall the decor was dated. Not a problem for me as I was only staying 1 night. One think it is lacking is a bedside table which was annoying but not a major issue. This is an excellent location if you are visiting your child at Reading University (as I was) because it is a 15 minute walk, or 5 minute drive away. There are all the amenities you need. Kettle, fridge, microwave, plates, bowls, cutlery and a hairdryer. I didnt have the breakfast so I can't comment on that.

Overall wonderful experience, all staff I encountered were courteous and helpful. Room was clean and fresh, bed comfortable and all linens smelled delightful! Located on a bus route, easy walk into town Centre, various shops/eateries a few minutes walk away from hotel. I will definitely stay there again.

Curtains were ripped in the room, no blinds or nets on the window, tbe window was dirty,small dining room,so 30 minutes wait to go in for breakfast. our breakfast order was lost (we only realised when 3 other tables received their orders before us who had ordered after us) limited bar drinks & then it closed at 10 20 Saturday night

Appreciated easy off-street parking Was convenient and clean Staff was helpful, cheerful and courteous despite being VERY busy at breakfast. Nicole went above and beyond! Room was small but definitely adequate for a place to lay ones head for a good night's sleep! TY Would stay again in a heartbeat. In fact we did a week later!!!

Beautiful building in quiet residential area, close to Reading University. 5 minutes walk to Tesco Express. The free parking space is ample. The staff are excellent. The breakfast is surprisingly good. Only the room is basic. There is a damp smell. Had to leave windows open to air it.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The facility felt fresh, cozy and clean. It was in good repair with great water pressure. Certainly was convenient for us flying into Heathrow and then driving on to Scotland.. The 7 of us will be back next weekend before flying out to head home. Thank you!

Very busy car park on a Saturday night. Clean room though decor a bit dated. Mould in corner of bathroom ceiling and bath plug drained very slowly. Comfy beds which were nice and firm. Fridge, microwave, plates and cutlery provided. Could hear traffic noise from the room. Got the room at a very reasonable price so will consider again in future.

My room was at the back of the Stables building, and the adjacent property had a load of rubbish dumped in the garden after what I’d guess was some refurbishment….it looked like a builder’s unkept yard. The room was extremely dated and seems to have remained untouched since the 70’s, maybe 80’s. The toilet seat wouldn’t stay up, which is quite frustrating for a man. The heated towel rail looked unsafe, with burn marks at the connector. Notwithstanding, it was mostly clean (except for one of the bath towels that had brown stains on it, and the carpet which you could feel bits of dirt underfoot and could do with thorough vacuuming), and cheap. It’s in a good location close to The Oracle, and might be OK if/when on a tight budget, but I don’t plan on staying there again.

Absolutely shocking, massively overcharged!

Charged £243 so assumed it would be high end accommodation but was more like student digs/a hostel and would have found £100 too expensive. The hotel and room was very tired, grubby and felt dirty. The windows were very difficult to open and the bathroom was so old, having a shower the nob came off so couldn’t switch it off. The walls were filthy and the whole suite needs completely ripping out and replacing. I feel like I’ve been charged the rate of a high end London hotel for an awful experience … so disappointed and feeling robbed
