Le Remignotin - REMIGNY

Sandrine and Luc (a cycling enthusiast) welcome you to their charming, authentic, traditional 18th-century house, steeped in history and meticulously restored (formerly the village grocery store). It stands next to an elegant 11th-century Romanesque church and a rare old wash house with majestic stone arches, nestled on the edge of a narrow lane, just steps from the Canal du Centre which runs through the village (along which lies a greenway). Located in the heart of a peaceful, picturesque little wine-growing village in the Côtes Chalonnaises, perfectly preserved, it lies in a bucolic valley of vineyards and wooded meadows, not far from a vast, wild national forest, within the gentle Dheune Valley, rich in history ("the ceramics valley"). A splendid rural and natural setting, bordering the Maranges and Couchois regions in the heart of unspoiled wine country, on a protected Natura 2000 site renowned for its rich ecosystems. A magnificent rolling landscape of vineyard slopes, hedgerows, and forests, close to Mont Rome (a renowned climbing site and superb viewpoint offering exceptional views stretching from the Saône to the Autunois region), and Mont de Sène (an ancient Celtic place of worship with a majestic panorama). Spacious and comfortable gîte. Warm, contemporary country charm blends seamlessly with traces of the original structure (fireplace mantels and the remains of a stone wall). Pleasant south-facing balcony. Composition: Semi-detached village house including the owners' accommodation (complete independence). Wi-Fi (fiber optic). Electric heating. First-floor apartment: kitchen, living/dining room (single sofa bed 120x190cm), bedroom (double bed 140x190cm), utility room with desk and pool table, shower room (multi-jet shower), separate WC. Private balcony. Bicycle storage. Ample free public parking on the street. Shops 2 km. All amenities 3 km. Supermarkets 4 km. Electric car charging station (communal) next to the apartment. Non-smoking. A stone's throw from all amenities! Charming authentic 18th century character residence, full of history & fully restored, nestled in a quiet area a stone's throw from the vineyards, in the heart of a picturesque wine village in the Côtes Chalonnaises nestled on the banks of the famous Canal du Centre, 2 km from the spa town of Santenay (casino on site) & 3 km from Chagny renowned for its Sunday morning gastronomic market (delightful typical villages & shops, with many amenities including supermarkets, as well as extensive sports & leisure facilities). Splendid surrounding wine-growing countryside, dotted with marked hiking trails (including "green walks" to explore on foot or by mountain bike), including several protected sites classified as "Natura 2000 Zone" & ZNIEFF (for their rich faunal & floral ecosystems), neighboring the bucolic vineyards of Maranges & Couchois, the sumptuous Vaux valley ("the little Chalonnaise Switzerland") & the famous "Val d'Or" of Mercurey (leader of the Côte Chalonnaise vintages, one of the oldest AOCs in France), in the hollow of the gentle Dheune valley & its sublime rolling landscapes combining vineyard slopes, wooded hills, meadows & rivers. Ultra-privileged location on the routes of the Romanesque churches circuit, the "Route des Grands Vins" extended by the illustrious & nearby "Route des Grands Crus" (crossing the legendary wine villages of Puligny-Montrachet, Pommard, Meursault… all located less than 15 km away), the EuroVélo6 cycle route (along the Canal du Centre) attached to the "Cycloroute71" (Tour de Saône-et-Loire by bike), 2 km from the GR7 (connected to the GR76 & GR137) linked to the superb GRPs "Au fil des Vignes et Vallées" & "Grands Crus", 2 km (equidistance) from the Greenway "du Morvan aux Vignobles", the Cycle Route "la Voie des Étangs" (connecting Beaune) & the Cycle Route "la Voie des Vignes" (36 km among the most famous vineyards in the world) and 17 km of the Green Way of the "Great Loop of Southern Burgundy". Prime location on the border of the Côte d'Or, at the crossroads of the world-renowned vineyards of the Côtes de Beaune, Hautes Côtes de Beaune & Côtes Chalonnaises, at the crossroads of the Pays Beaunois, Bresse Bourguignonne & Autunois, not far from the Morvan Natural Park. Ideal for exploring: 11 km from the medieval town of Nolay (lake designed for swimming), 15 km from Couches (sumptuous 13th century castle of Queen Marguerite of Burgundy & "Seven menhirs of Epoigny", one of the most important megalithic sites in Burgundy), 16 km from Beaune, 21 km from Chalon-sur-Saône (labeled "Town of Art and History"), 30 km from Le Creusot (renowned Combes amusement park / Creusot TGV station 27 km away), 40 km from Autun (labeled "Town of Art and History", with over 2000 years of human presence), 41 km from Seurre & 47 km from Tournus. A totally exotic "pied-à-terre", immersed in the heart of the town, for a stopover or romantic getaway!
