7/10 beds need to be linked and secured.

The room was very big and clean. Two beds pushed together that would pull apart in the night. The furniture on the outside of the bed, didn’t seem to fit the bed. Could reach one bedside table but the other was too far away as the 2 beds kept moving. The sockets on one side of the bed would pop out, so had to make sure my charger was on the other side. Strange to have a punchbag hanging in the middle of the room but it used up some of the wasted space. Unfortunately not a lot to do in Remscheid. Last train from Cologne / Solingen is around 12.00am The food and service in the restaurant downstairs was good. Train station was 3 minutes walk. There were a few cafe bars around the back of hotel and a main shopping street and shopping centre with Aldi as well as lots of other shops. I contacted the hotel about reception as was worried due to previous reviews. They replied quickly and there is 24 hours reception. However outside the front door there is a check in/out machine, so not sure when this would be used. Lifts are a little rocky and there is a damp type smell when you get out of the lift but this smell is not in the room. All in all, the hotel is good if you know the area where you are staying but just a little too far out from Cologne for me.

Okay for the price.

I arrived late at night and everywhere was closed up. I call the intercom and only German was spoken. I finally found the self check in machine, which was hidden around a corner and totally not lit, so the flash light on my cell phone came in handy. When I got to the room, it was very hot with no AC, but the windows did open, so you had a choice, hot and quite or cooler and noisy. I went for the later. Downstairs is a brewery so beer was good. Breakfast was nothing special, but adequate, clean and fresh. I found the bed really hard and I’m glad I was there only 3 nights. No carpet, only wood floors which I thought could have been mopped more often. The bathroom was nice and the shower was good. No welcoming bottle of water, or safe in the room. Room did have exercise mat and other workout equipment.

Very bad experience with the automated check in sy

Booked 5 rooms, as the check in system was automated, only one of us were able to get a room key. Leaving 4 of us stranded. Seems like the atuo check in system are out of cards. Payment couldn't be made, no card issued. We tried all ways to contact but nobody pick up our calls. Please refund the 4 rooms.

Excellent place!

Very convenient to the train station. Terrific place at an incredibly reasonable price. Breakfast is a bit overpriced for what is available but otherwise, wonderful.
