Villa Nikolaos is approved by Greek Tourism Organisation with license number: 1041K10000010800 & managed by "etouri vacation rental management".
Villa Nikolaos is a traditional farmhouse with over a century of history. Restored in the early 1990s, it maintains its original charm while adding modern updates. Located on a hillside, the villa offers clear views of the surrounding green landscape. It covers 130 m2 and has two bedrooms, accommodating up to 5 guests.
Layout
Ground Floor
The ground floor of the villa includes a fully equipped kitchen and a living room with a 50 smart TV and Bluetooth speaker. A WC with a washing machine is also available on this level.
First Floor
A wooden staircase leads to the upper floor, which has two bedrooms. Each bedroom includes King-size beds (1.80m x 2.00m), air conditioning, and central heating. An extra bed can be added to one of the rooms if needed. The first floor also features a 40 m2 veranda with outdoor seating and views of the surroundings.
Outdoor Area
The outdoor area of the Villa covers 1300 sq. meters, featuring:
- A 32 sq. meter swimming pool. It is situated in the best spot, offering an amazing view of the surroundings. The pool terrace is equipped with sunbeds and seating areas for your comfort.
- Barbeque facilities with a charcoal grill and an outdoor dining table for al fresco dining
- A garden with roses and various flowers, large carob trees, stone-built terraces with grapevines and fruit trees, and vegetable gardens where you can learn how to cultivate vegetables. Moreover, you can even use the freshly harvested produce when preparing your meals during your stay. The spacious gardens also offer ample chances for kids to play around.
- Parking space inside the villa premises.
- The villa has a gated entrance and is fully fenced, offering complete privacy.
**Accommodation cost excludes Climate Resilience Tax. The amount for the accommodation type is set at EUR15 per night from April to October and EUR4 per night from November to March, payable upon check-in.

Un petit coin de paradis

Villa trÚs bien située, au calme, bien équipée, bien entretenue et avec un charme ancien qui lui donne un cachet fou. C'est notre troisiÚme séjour... Aucun souci.

A perfect 2 week stay at the gorgeous Villa Nikoloas and only wish we could have stayed longer! The villa has everything you need for a relaxing stay from a really well equipped kitchen, comfy beds and good air conditioning in the bedrooms, to a fabulous ourdoor spsce with plenty of places to sit and enjoy the surroundings. The views are stunning and it was such a peaceful place to relax and just enjoy the gardens and nature. The pool is by far the best of any holiday villa we've been to and truly is a pool with a view! The swifts loved it too and was great to watch them every evening skimming across the top of the pool to cool off. We were met and shown around by the owners who are so lovely and incredibly helpful. They had left a welcome hamper along with homemade olive oil and raki - delicious! They were very responsive to any questions and had great tips of places to visit and things to do.The village taverna Kafenio Filio is a must visit for great home cooked food and a welcoming atmosphere and it's literally a 2 min walk from the villa - and a walk around the local museum and the archaeological site is well worth it too.Great location and easy to drive to beaches, towns and places of interest. Thoroughly recommend Villa Nikolaos and we will be back!

Tophuisje voor een vakantie in de natuur

Een heel leuke vakantie gehad in ons vakantiehuis, ideaal voor wie op zoek is naar rust in de natuur. Dichtbij mogelijkheden om te wandelen, cultuur op te snuiven, met de auto is de kust ook niet ver. In het dorpje zelf (gewoon de straat uit) is een heerlijke taverne: supervriendelijke mensen, het eten is geweldig, dus zeker een aanrader! Het huisje zelf is ruim genoeg, airco op de slaapkamers, bad- en bedlinnen wordt voorzien en ververst, er werd zelfs gepoetst, top dus! De tuin is zalig om in te vertoeven, vele verschillende schaduwplekken en een heerlijk zwembad met fantastisch uitzicht. Zeker een aanrader dus!

Ruhe, Landschaft, gute Luft

Wir waren einen Teil unserer Ferien nach dem Hotel an der KĂŒste fernab vom Strandtrubel noch in diesem sehr schönen Haus in den "Bergen". Das Haus ist sehr gepflegt, in einem großen TerrassengrundstĂŒck gelegen mit einem tollen Blick in ein kleines Tal. Mehrere Sitzecken je nach Sonnenstand. Pool klein aber perfekt. Der Ort bietet unter anderem ausgewiesene Wanderstrecken zu den AusgrabungsstĂ€tten und historischen Überresten (Alter Turm, Zisternen,...), so daß man problemlos vom Haus aus loswandern kann. Die kleine Taverne am Ort bietet gute und einfache KĂŒche bei extrem freundlichem Personal. Neben der Taverne erfreut einen dann das abendliche kretische Dorfleben. Unsere Furcht vor dem nĂ€chtlichen Bellen der Nachbarshunde (in einer frĂŒheren Bewertung berichtet) war zum GlĂŒck unbegrĂŒndet. Wir haben nachts in der Richtung nichts vernommen, sondern vielmehr die Ruhe genossen. Die Nachbarskatzen besuchen einen gerne und hĂ€ufig, lĂ€rmen ja aber nicht. Die Vermieter waren ausnehmend freundlich, es gab eine Zwischenreinigung unter der Woche. Die Vermietungsagentur hat allerdings im Vorhinein in meinen Augen unnötig viele Mails versendet, die zum Teil zu beantworten waren. Fazit: ein perfektes Ferienhaus. Wir sind gerne bei Gelegenheit zu einem zweiten Besuch bereit.

Sehr schoene Villa in schoene Umgebung

Alles war in Ordnung, nur gab es die erste - ganze -Nacht, staendig bellende Hunde bei den Nachbarn so dass schlafen unmoeglich war. Auch teilweise die zweite Nacht und sind dann umgezogen. Die Organisation hat uns gut geholfen

Sehr schöner Aufenthalt

Wir (2 Erwachsene, 1 Kind) waren im August fĂŒr 12 Tage in diesem Haus. Das Haus ist am Rand einer Schlucht, ca. 20 Minuten von der KĂŒstenlinie entfernt, im Hinterland gelegen. Es hat uns dort sehr gut gefallen. Das GrundstĂŒck ist groß, schön angelegt und bietet verschiedene Sitzecken, die wir, je nach Sonnenstand, auch alle genutzt haben. Insbesondere der alte Baumbestand ist wirklich schön in das Anwesen integriert. Die veröffentlichten Bilder geben die Gegebenheiten realistisch wieder. Das Haus bietet alles, was man fĂŒr einen Aufenthalt braucht und hatte fĂŒr uns eine perfekte GrĂ¶ĂŸe. Der Pool im hinteren Teil des lĂ€nglichen GrundstĂŒcks war wirklich traumhaft; jederzeit glasklar, mit abfallender Tiefe, ausreichender GrĂ¶ĂŸe und vor Allem mit einem herrlichen Blick in die angrenzende Schlucht. Die Lage bietet auch einen guten Ausgangspunkt fĂŒr AusflĂŒge zu einigen SehenswĂŒrdigkeiten bzw. zu schönen StrĂ€nden. Die Vermieter und auch die Mitarbeiter der Agentur Etouri waren sehr freundlich, jederzeit zu erreichen und standen bei Fragen zur VerfĂŒgung. Auch zu loben ist die kleine Taverne, ca. 100 Meter entfernt, in der wir mehrfach gegessen haben. Alles in Allem war es ein rundum gelungener Urlaub.

Fantastische Location mit tollem Ausblick!

Wir haben uns in der Villa in Elefthera sehr wohlgefĂŒhlt. Der Vermieter ist sehr nett und der Ort ein Traum fĂŒr alle die es etwas ruhiger mögen. Der Blick vom Pool ist wunderschön und alles an der Villa und dem damit verbundenen Service ist empfehlenswert! Gerne wieder! Familie Ketzel

Amazing holiday

Lovely farmhouse, garden, and pool. Very friendly and welcoming owners. Amazing outlook down the ravine, with beautiful sunsets. Huge advantage being just a 2-minute walk from the village taverna, which is very good. The village location does mean close proximity to neighbours, including another rental villa with pool, so there might be noise, depending on the group staying there. But overall the location has far more pros than cons, and the property feels private because of the mature garden. The sites of ancient Eleftherna are within easy walking distance. Make sure you watch a sunset from the Byzantine tower. Would very happily stay here again. A beautiful place.

Magical place in an ancient village

The garden is a Wonderland, so much beauty and so many lovely places to sit and soak in the gorgeous views. The villa is clearly a beloved sanctuary - with great history and care from the family who owns it. Inside was the perfect respite from the heat - big space, cool floors, all that you need to relax and enjoy Crete. We particularly loved the village taverna “Filio” and went every single day! So nice to be able to walk one minute to dinner. Our infant son actually took his first steps here. A very special place in a very special part of Crete. Highly recommend!

A wonderful place

Gorgeous villa with stunning views

We loved our stay at the villa. The pool and garden area were gorgeous. We loved swimming in the pool which wasn't too chilly. For two people there was lots of space, it would be perfect for families too. Gorgeous upstairs terrace which we didn't end up using that much as the garden and pool area was so nice. In general a peaceful setting, in a small village away from other tourists. We went in May which was a perfect time of year, nice and warm but not too hot and seemed quite quiet on the island overall. Incredible views of the mountains which were still covered in snow. We'd definitely return.

Fantastic views in a quiet retreat

This is an amazing property with beautiful roses in the garden, a very private pool area with a scenic view. The taverna in the village (50m away) was very nice and served tasty food. The villa owner was really helpful too.

Absolut empfehlenswert!

Wir (2 Paare) hatten einen tollen Urlaub in dieser schönen Villa mit dem wunderschönen Garten und natĂŒrlich dem Pool. Sehr nette Vermieter, inkl. der Oma, die sich um uns und den Garten gekĂŒmmert haben. Das Haus ist perfekt und hochwertig ausgestattet und wird regelmĂ€ĂŸig gereinigt. Danke auch dafĂŒr. Die Taverne Filio, gleich um die Ecke, mĂŒssen wir unbedingt erwĂ€hnen. Wir haben noch nirgends so leckere ursprĂŒngliche kretische KĂŒche kennen gelernt, obwohl wir schon sehr oft auf Kreta waren. Georg als Wirt und Valia als Köchin verwöhnen ihre GĂ€ste mit griechischer Gastfreundlichkeit und wir haben uns sofort wohl gefĂŒhlt. Das war nicht unser letzter Besuch im Filio! Great villa with spectacular view

We - a family of four - had a wonderful stay in this beautiful villa. Located in a small village and with a spectacular view, the villa is perfect for exploring the Rethymnon area or just relaxing in a quiet rural setting. The general standard of the villa is very high and the garden and pool area is unique. Do visit the local cafe Filio for great food and friendly atmosphere. In total, a highly recommendable place - we hope to return someday!

A fabulous holiday

We had a great time in the Villa. We arrived late but Vangelis showed us around and there was a lovely welcome pack of food, bread, milk, cheese, eggs and fruit in the fridge which was much appreciated. We loved the pool and swam everyday. The villa was clean, spacious, well equipped and comfortable and the gardens were lovely with lots of different areas to sit to get sun it shade with fantastic views. The supermarket wasn’t far to get to and we ate a couple of evenings in the taverna in the village which served tasty dishes

A wonderful relaxing 12 days

This is our fourth visit to Villa Nikolaos and also the longest stay. The house and gardens are still just as gorgeous, which is what keeps us coming back. The village also has the feel of a real traditional Greek community, cafe Filio is fabulous! The owners are lovely and really friendly, the food is delicious. We took a walk to the ancient bridge this time which was worth seeing, Bali on the coast has a good beach and nice family taverna for lunch. Thank you to both the team at Etouri and Vangelis the owner, nothing is ever too much trouble!! We will be back 😀

unbedingt empfehlenswert

Wir sind zwei Paare, keine Strandmenschen, interessiert an Wanderungen, neuer und alter Kultur und allgemein an Land und Leuten. Die Fotos zum Haus sind nicht geschönt, es ist alles wundervoll renoviert, in der von uns intensiv genutzten KĂŒche kann man gut arbeiten. Die RĂ€ume sind großzĂŒgig, die Fenster der SchlafrĂ€ume haben wirksamen Insektenschutz. Das GrundstĂŒck ist riesig, man findet viele ruhige PlĂ€tze nach jedermanns Geschmack. Der Vermieter kĂŒmmert sich persönlich und sehr herzlich um seine GĂ€ste, die Reinigung und der WĂ€schewechsel sind wie in einem Drei-Sterne-Hotel. Das Haus liegt mit wundervoller Weitsicht in einem kleinen Dorf, direkt an einem Tal mit ĂŒberwiegend frei zugĂ€nglichen AusgrabungsstĂ€tten - mit einem vorherigen Besuch im nahe gelegenen Museum und mit Hilfe des Vermieters bekommt man schnell Zugang zu den Funden. Wir haben von hier aus AusflĂŒge nach Rethymno, Heraklion und in die grĂ¶ĂŸere Umgebung gemacht - fĂŒr den entfernten Westen hatten wir spĂ€ter ein weiteres Quartier. Die Straßen und Wege haben zwar bei den FrĂŒhjahrstĂŒrmen sehr gelitten, es wird aber fleißig repariert und alle Orte waren gut mit unserem Miet-Kleinwagen erreichbar. Wer möchte kann schnell Kontakt mit den Bewohnern des Hauses bekommen - trotz schrecklicher Vergangenheit werden Deutsche mit offenen Armen empfangen.

Beautiful tranquil location

A villa with a view. A great location with lots to visit in the immediate surroundings with an archaeological site and museum nearby. This is a peaceful location and you can happily spend long evening sitting outside enjoying the view and golden hue cast over the garden as the sun sets. Have already recommended to family.

Relaxing holiday in tranquil Crete

We arrived at the Villa having weaved our way up from the Rethymon, this took an eternity and we all wondered if we would ever find our destination. However it was well worth the journey, the location of the villa was outstanding, perched on the side of a hill with amazing scenic views. The gardens were beautifully laid out, tiered on different levels, with fruit, vegetable, herbs and flowers growing in abundance. The pool, oh my goodness, words are not sufficient to describe this infinity pool, the water was warm and swimming in this location was amazing. The villa was well equipped, bedrooms well furnished and the bathroom had very modern suite and shower. Vangelis and his family made us feel very welcome, we were greeted by his son and then later that day Vangelis arrived to welcome us. Throughout our stay Vangelis was helpful, charming to deal with and we had several very pleasant chats with him, he was a charming host. The local village was accomodating and very friendly towards us, we infact ate at the local taverna on three occasions, George and his wife we so charming, simple greek cuisine but very tasty. We would thoroughly reccomend this villa in a stunning location to get a real taste of authentic Crete. Kind regards The Odell family

A charming house, set in a beautiful garden with a great pool and a perfect view.

We arrived to a warm welcome from the owners family who showed us around the house and village. The house is tastefully decorated and immaculate, fully equipped with everything you might need. The welcome pack included fresh vegetables from the garden, wine, olive oil and raki, all locally sourced from the owners land. All of this indicates thoughtful and considerate home owners and meant that we were able to immediately relax and enjoy the peace and quiet offered by the house, its environment and the surrounding area. The pool was a good size and in very good condition. It was an easy place to enjoy the tranquility offered and the delightful evening viewing of swallows swooping for water, complete with superb sunsets. The house was well looked after, even during our stay. It was cleaned and bedding changed midweek, with no disturbance to us. The garden was beautiful and very well looked after, again with no disturbance to us. The village was calm and quiet. The local taverna was great, providing simple, delicious meals, again locally sourced. Everyone we met was friendly and keen to help us in any way possible. The owners family were warm, interesting and informative about the village and beyond. We could not have asked for a more perfect holiday home in a fascinating area.
