Cozy little apartment in the quiet Laugardalur valley area

Small private apartment/studio (bedroom, bathroom and a small kitchen area) in a quiet neighborhood next to Laugardalur valley, 7 min. drive to downtown ReykjavĂ­k. This is a ground floor/semi-basement space (4 steps down) restored with quality furnishings and furniture. Includes a washing machine, dryer, espresso maker, TV and free wi-fi.
Please note that the ceiling is a bit low (215 cm).

Parking is free in this neighborhood where you'll find the largest outdoor thermal pool in Iceland, a Family Park and Zoo, botanical garden, Restaurants, cafés and art museums.

Our goal is to provide our guests with a nice and clean private space with a comfortable bed, bathroom and simple kitchen where they can enjoy free wifi, TV and prepare simple meals at a fair price.

Please note: Our building is currently undergoing exterior upgrades. Work is mostly outside and does not affect the interior (which is in perfect condition), but there may be occasional noise during daytime hours.

For some reason our listing says that the property has an outdoor pool. This is not true. Neither us or the VRBO team are able to change this for now, so please keep this in mind.

From the moment we arrived until we left, everything was wonderful. If all you require is a comfortable bed, kitchen, washer and dryer and free parking right in front of the unit then this is what you want. The owner answered messages right away, usually within minutes and communicated everything we needed. The unit is small and designed for a couple, but much more desirable than a hotel room. If we ever return to Reykjavik, we would not hesitate to stay here again!

Frederik’s home was absolutely beautiful, possibly our best stay our whole trip. The apartment was very cozy and clean, and he had a book full of any and all information you could ever need! From local recs to instructions for the tv. Overall a very relaxing and exquisite stay.

Oh my goodness this was an absolutely perfect place to stay in Reykjavik! It was so cozy and had everything we needed. The dryer was amazing for rainy days. It was also partially underground, so sunlight was never an issue with sleeping. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking in the area! I’m so glad we found this apartment!!

Great place to stay

A welcoming note and atmosphere. A perfect little apartment in this home, with comfortable bedding, shower, kitchen, good WiFi, TV, washer/dryer. We felt comfortable and safe in the home and the neighborhood. Parking on the street was easy. This was a great place to stay during our time exploring ReykjavĂ­k. There were many nice renovations. A well cared for property.

Sublime suburbia

This is the perfect little basement appartment. I actually found it to be a little bit bigger than the the pictures show. Its got everything you need to start your stay in iceland. From street parking (which is a really big bonus in this city!), to cooking utensils, to easy access to the ring road, this place is a great place to start your ring road trip! Or if you don't have time for that, this is a great landing pad to explorer the whole capital area without worrying about changing locations. If we come back to Iceland we will definitely try to book this place again!

Could not ask for more!

This spot is honestly perfect, especially if you have a rental car (which we did). You have plenty of space, a comfortable bed, a nice bathroom, and a kitchen with every cooking utensil you’d want. Location is great with the easy 5-minute drive to downtown, a cheap gas station a block away, and the Bónus supermarket 3 minutes down the road. The neighborhood is quiet though, which makes getting a good night’s rest very easy. En-suite laundry is so clutch as it made packing light much easier. And all for such a reasonable price! Host’s instruction booklet had great amount of helpful info for the apartment as well as the local area. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We had an amazing stay. The space is very well decorated and the choice in design is intentional and modern yet cozy. You can tell that the hosts have put a lot of care into the space. The bed is very comfortable. The hosts let us check in early - we’re grateful for this courtesy as we were incredibly tired from our flight! The guest guide was very helpful and we appreciated the suggestions for restaurants and general city information.
