Good choice for a night or two!

The location for this hotel or “guesthouse” is excellent. You can throw a rock and almost hit the prominent Hallgrimskirkja church on the hill. More importantly, you’re 1 minute from one of the 2 main streets of the city (which also takes you downtown). The staff were all very friendly and helpful with information. They even tracked my flights coming in for arrival, which was important given I actually got delayed and held over in another city.. The room itself is pretty small and the bathroom even smaller. It works, but for $200 a night it’s not cheap. There’s no real amenities here, but it works for an overnight or two. Just don’t expect the Marriott level of comfort and style.

Guesthouse SUNNA—a superior value!

Everything met my expectations and the staffing supplied any special assistance I needed! The location on Sunna Guesthouse is central to main shopping streets, beautiful Hallgrimskirkja Church, tour and siteseeing bus stop #8 and the best restaurants in town (shout out Cafe Loki, Skal, Braud & Co. and Reykjavik Roasters) I loved the breakfasts and the classic Icelandic spartan quality of facility and service!

This is a great guesthouse in the perfect place for a stay in Reykjavik. Easy walk to restaurants and beautiful old style buildings. Laundry facilities much appreciated as well as included parking and breakfast.

Comfortable stay

We stayed at Sunna Guesthouse for 3 nights. The staff was friendly and the service was excellent. The room was basic and small, but clean. There was a small shared kitchen next to our room, which was convenient for keeping snacks and soft drinks. The Guesthouse is very convenient to the main shopping area and areas of interest. We considered the Guesthouse a very good value for the money.

I booked a double-bed room in the Guesthouse Sunna hotel for two nights (Jun 7 and Jun 8). When checked in the hotel, we were told that we booked the double-bed room with only one guest. The double-bed room should be at least for two people in a common sense. We have traveled a lot countries in Europe, South/North America, it is the first time we heard a double-bed for one person only. So be careful, don't assume that the double-bed room is for two people when you deals with Sunna.

Very convenient, as hotel is located directly across from landmark Halgrimskirka, a church that features top-drawer organ recitals that may or may not be secretly dedicated to Thor, a location allowing for easy navigation back to bed from anywhere in the city for anyone still able to lift his head to the horizon.

The front desk staff was helpful and friendly. The guesthouse is clean and comfortable. It is in a great location. The shared bathroom setup was not inconvenient. Check in and check out were quick. It was exactly as advertised. Eat at Loki which is right by the guesthouse.
