Best Spa !! A must go to for the spa alone. Especially after my nature adventures this was such a nice decompression. Comfortable beds, wonderful decorations, tasty breakfast, and really close to Blue lagoon. Definitely want to visit again.

Beautiful lobby, not so good room

The lobby hotel is beautiful. The room was smaller than expected but ok. The reason why I am giving it a low rating is because something was off with the room, the phone to call reception didn’t work, the room was a sauna (I am from arizona and practice Bikram yoga so to be bothered by a hot room at this hotel speaks volumes). I went to the reception to report the issue, and the receptionist said someone would come to our room and never did. It was past midnight and we had a long flight so we just let it go but for the price, I would have at least expected a better room and a better service.

We had two rooms, one of which was OK. The other was a disaster. The heating wouldn’t shut off and hotel staff didn’t know what to do and couldn’t move us to another room, but it was 28° all night long. Needless to say it wasn’t very good sleeping before an important flight the next day The hotel is a little Gerry And design and decoration, but it’s adequate for most rooms. I think it is a little noisy from the street and inside the hotel.

Ventilation for the bathroom

We found hair on our bed and on the walls in the bathroom. No ventilation in the bathroom. So, if you take a hot shower, everything gets soaked.

Hotel was fine the room was quite a bit smaller than pictured and the mini fridge did not work. The area around the hotel was industrial so the hotel seemed a bit out of place. But less than 10 minutes to the airport for an early flight was convenient.

Nice hotel near the airport. Convenient to get to. Friendly staff. We reached after midnight but had no trouble checking in. They have free parking in front of the hotel which is nice. Excellent breakfast buffet in the morning.

I was connecting to a flight the next day and needed to spend the night. The hotel is very nice and located in a quiet area. I had dinner in the restaurant and it was excellent. The lamb was superb. Room was good and the staff was very friendly.

Terrible customer experience

I chose this hotel based on their rating, facilities and accommodation. It is one hour from Reykjavik. After a late afternoon meeting in Reykjavik, I drove to the hotel for over 1.25 hours (rush hour), only to learn that because of a pipe burst effecting my room I’d been moved to a lesser accommodation down the street. I had a much less superior room, received no refund for what I would’ve paid had I booked the second hotel and room directly, and waited almost an hour for the room to be ready at the second hotel. I had another meeting in Reykjavik early in the morning (I did not when I booked the hotel originally), so I would have just stayed in Reykjavik had the hotel notified me there was a problem with my room and I’d be moved. I received no discount, assistance from the first hotel, or consideration, and the experience cost me about 4 hours of time plus the opportunity to have had a fine dinner in Reykjavik. Not thoughtful service at and shocking I was offered no discount for a smaller room at a lesser hotel, let alone any consideration for the inconvenience.
