Welcoming house in Medieval Town

Welcome to our place which is located right next to St. Athanasius gate. You are now in the “Turkish neighborhood” which is one of the many cross cultural neighborhoods of the Old Town. Here you will have the chance to live in a traditional restored medieval home.

The Garden
The oasis like green and luscious garden with citrus trees, bougainvillea and other plants will help you capture the magic essence of the Mediterranean atmosphere. The high stone walls surrounding the garden offer privacy and tranquility. There is a private courtyard fully equipped for dinning and relaxing. You can also enjoy the outdoors BBQ. The large bitter orange tree with the built-in stone benches around is the right place for your breakfast in the morning shade. Tables and director's chairs complete the comfortable scene.

The House
A two storey home features a bedroom with a double bed, and a bathroom in each floor.
The ground floor consists of a dining room fully furnished with air condition and a bedroom with double bed, closet, drawers and fan. Also here you will find the fully equipped kitchen with electric cooking range and oven, dishwasher, fridge freezer, toaster, boiler and coffee machine. There is also a bathroom with a shower and a washing machine. In the cozy living room there is a sofa bed, a flat screen TV with Satellite, DVD player and a ceiling fan.
On the first floor there is a bedroom with double bed, bedside tables and closet, en-suite bathroom (WC &shower) and a beautiful terrace offering a panoramic view of the historical medieval walls. It is equipped with sun beds and sun umbrella, an idyllic place for soaking up the sun or enjoying the night sky.
Our home can accommodate up to 5 people. We provide all necessary linen and towels. Hot water supply is constant, powered by solar energy. All windows and doors have insect protection net. There are also ironing facilities, Fire extinguisher, First Aid Kit and a safe. It is available on request a cot and a highchair for a baby.

Transportation
Just outside the Gate of St. Athanasius, (2 min. walk) ,there is a taxi station and a bus station (suburban & urban) leading you to the beaches and beyond. There is also free parking space available right next to St. Athanasius gate.

The neighborhood
Our home is located in a quiet neighborhood near the center, while also sheltered from the noise of the city. All sights of the Old Town, monuments, museums, shopping market, pharmacy and entertainment district with taverns, restaurants and bars, are within a 5 - 10 minute walk from the house. In the picturesque streets surrounding the house you will find monuments, mini markets, bakeries, tourist’s accommodations, souvenir shops, and the red light houses, all coexisting in harmony. After all, it is this colorful blend of different cultures that form the unique flavor of this town.

Un sejour inoubliable

Si vous etes amateurs de petits villages pitoresques ne cherchez pas ailleurs! Le vieux Rhodes est juste magnifique et la maison parfaite et pleine de charme. L'accueil de Dora, ses indications pour simplifier et rendre notre séjour le plus agréable possible, sa discrÚte mais efficace disponibilité, ont fini de rendre notre séjour inoubliable! Nous reviendrons dÚs que possible!!!!

Just what we wanted a character property in the medieval town within walking distance of most place.

It suited perfectly us perfectly being in walking distance of places of interest and shops bars and restaurants The garden is beautiful shady but allows a cooling breeze. The only thing we would have liked would have been comfortable sun loungers on the balcony the owners were very friendly and helpful and a delight to meet. A lovely two weeks in a genuine old town house.

Cheerful and comfortable stay

Our stay in this beautiful home was a highlight of our trip. What a charming and comfortable house in the perfect location! We were warmly welcomed by Dora upon arrival and communication throughout was so friendly, responsive and easy. We were lucky to be in Rhodes when the temps were perfect for leaving the windows open, with the sweet smell of jasmine in the gentle breeze. Plus, the private balcony and patio/garden were wonderful places to have breakfast and relax at the end of the day! The house is conveniently located near a gate of the medieval wall. We rented a car and parked just outside of the wall, so getting ourselves and rolling bags to the house was really easy. Most of the medieval town is quite crowded with tourists, however this part of town was very quiet and tourist-free. I would stay here again and again, should I have the chance to return to Rhodes!

Great stay in Rhodes town

This property was ideally located for all the attractions in the old town, as well as the harbour and beaches. It's a very old house, so has its quirks, but we found it perfect for our needs, especially with the surprisingly large and quiet outdoor space. Rosa was very responsive to any questions we had.

Medieval Old Town Traveler

Our return visit to this extraordinary medieval old town was memorable.The property was very comfortable and inviting. The roof top Ï„Î±ÏÎŹÏ„ÏƒÎ± was the perfect spot for breakfast, dinner and drinks or just a beautiful skyline with a cool island breeze. The garden area was nicely shaded and private. Day trips throughout the island (w/rental car) were enjoyed from this location. We look forward to our return one day to this historic site.

Great place to stay

Very comfortable house. It is a little away from the heart of the tourist throng which was great, but still only a few minutes walk to all of the attractions. Our host, Rosa, was wonderful. Extremely helpful and responded immediately to any questions. There is a delightful garden with 2 outdoor eating spots. Thoroughly recommend!

A delightful oasis in Rhodes

The property, a nicely renovated two storey home in the Turkish Quarter of Rhodes old Town, is set in a delightful walled garden perfect for relaxing in after a day of sightseeing. The roof terrace is an added bonus. The house has everything needed for a comfortable stay and is well situated in a quieter part of the old town. Wonderful stay in Old Town Rhodes

Rosa is a very friendly, helpful and really nice host for this lovely comfortable house, in a quiet neighbourhood, inside the city walls of Old Town Rhodes. Everything you need is provided and there is a lovely garden to enjoy. All the major sites of this wonderful historic town are close, the archeological museum is a must-visit and don’t forget its gardens for more treasures. Island buses are not far away as is the port for visiting nearby islands, or reaching Lindos by boat. This was our second stay, really like Rhodes - highly recommended

Comfortable, convenient, and roomy.

We stayed for a week in this lovely house in the historic city. The rooms are clean, nicely furnished, and comfortable for our family of five. It was quiet inside and had a beautiful garden with a table for eating outside. The terrace balcony upstairs was a nice place to have coffee in the morning. The host provided everything we needed for washing clothes and dishes and she was always available to help and offer recommendations. I would not hesitate to stay there again and recommend this house to anyone visiting Rhodes.

Wonderful place!

Location is brilliant, inside the town walls yet close enough to St Athanasios Gate / San Francisco for local buses and larger shops outside the old town. The house is well equipped with everything you need and Rosa was super friendly and helpful with all the enquiries one has not knowing the area. It's a 25 minutes walk to Zefyros beach, which is much nicer (and cheaper!) than Elli beach and the way there goes past a pretty large Kritikos supermarket. A minimarket, a small bakery, and a few bars and restaurants are literally around the corder within the old town. We really enjoyed our stay and can highly recommed the house!

A haven in Rhodes Old Town

This is an amazing place to stay within the walls of Rhodes Old Town. The location is wonderful and the two storey old house with garden and two bathrooms is a little paradise. It is clean and well provisioned for self catering and Rosa was a delightful host. Highly recommended!

Leben wie in lÀngst vergangener Zeit mit dem Komfort von heute. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Wir waren eine Woche in Rhodos-Altstadt und haben den Aufenthalt direkt im alten Ortskern sehr genossen. Wunderschöner gemĂŒtlicher Garten mit ZitronenbĂ€umen, von denen wir auch die eine oder andere heruntergefallene Frucht verzehrt haben. Trotz der direkten Innenstadtlage war es sehr ruhig (durch die Gasse fahren nicht mal Mopeds) und die vielen, sehr guten Restaurants sind sogar in weniger wie 5 Minuten erreichbar. Wir lieben einen Urlaub in einer Ferienwohnung oder einem Haus (statt eines Hotels mit evlt. HP oder AI) und genießen die wirklich tolle Auswahl an Essensmöglichkeiten und die Gastfreundschaft der Griechen. Die Vermieterin Rosa ist Ă€ußerst nett und jederzeit per WhatsApp oder Telefon erreichbar. Wir haben uns in dieser einen Woche nur einmal einen Roller gemietet, um uns die Umgebung ein bisschen anzuschauen, in der Stadt benötigt man kein Auto. Wir haben allerdings noch eine zweite Woche in Rhodos SĂŒden verbracht, fĂŒr diese Zeit hatten wir vor Ort ein sehr gĂŒnstiges Auto in der NĂ€he des Flughafens gemietet. Alles in allem ein tolles Erlebnis, ein bisschen wie leben in vergangener Zeit mit dem Komfort von heute, sehr empfehlenswert!

Wonderful ancient City experience.

We loved the location of this quirky, colourful house in a corner of the walled City with small shops close by and yet close to one of the gates for accessing car and new town. (Supermarket and fruit and veg shop outside were just 15 minutes walk away there) Rosa met us outside gate and was waiting patiently, while we got a bit lost, to help us drag our bags over a very short distance of cobbled lanes and then show us everything in her family home that we needed to know. The house had everything we needed, though we didn't cook much as there were so very many restaurants within minutes and we wanted to try as many as possible. We had to contact Rosa a few times during our two weeks with little queries about the area and she always answered immediately and was immensely friendly and helpful. She also allowed us to stay in house after normal check out time on our last day because we had a late flight home. We used the sunny roof terrace quite a lot and enjoyed our breakfast there, but imagine that the beautiful walled garden and it's shady areas would be fabulous in hotter months. At night by closing wooden shutters the bedrooms became very dark and quiet which was great for sleeping well and both beds were very comfortable. We adored the old Town's impressive fortifications, huge moat and cobbled alleys and had our favourite meals/drinks at Mangos, Ouzokafenes, Socrateous gardens and Romeos, as well as places in other areas on our travels around the island including a small hillside taverna in Appollina village, where we ate with all locals celebrating May Day and where the Chef is passionate about local organic produce. We found the people in Rhodes to be polite, welcoming, warm, kind, friendly and interested and had many great conversations about life there. It was very hard to leave Secret Garden house and we would most definitely go back. Thank you Rosa!

Zentrale und dennoch sehr ruhige Lage in der Altstadt

Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und zum Haus begleitet. Sowohl auf der Dachterrasse als auch im Garten kann man sehr gut entspannen. Im Haus ist alles wichtige vorhanden.

Wir haben die Woche in der Altstadt von Rhodos sehr genossen, die Ferienwohnung war optimal fĂŒr uns. Den Garten haben wir sehr viel benutzt, schöne und friedliche Lesestunden dort verbracht.

Ein schöner Ort fĂŒr den Aufenthalt in/auf Rhodos

Nach einer entspannten Buchung & Kommunikation mit Dora & Rosa konnten wir 14 Tage einen wunderschönen Urlaub auf Rhodos genießen. Wir haben immer einen Parkplatz vor dem Altstadttor gefunden. Bei unserer Ankunft hat uns Rosa schon erwartet & uns sogar bei unserem GepĂ€ck geholfen. Das Haus & der Garten sind wunderschön und durch die perfekte Lage am Rand der Altstadt ein idealer Ausgangspunkt, um abends die vielen, leckeren Tavernen & Bars zu erkunden. Wie schon einige in den Rezensionen erwĂ€hnten, stören die anliegenden ‚Etablissements‘ ĂŒberhaupt nicht. Es stehen genĂŒgend frische HandtĂŒcher & BettwĂ€sche zur VerfĂŒgung. Von der Dachterrasse hat man eine wundervolle Sicht. Rosa ist eine zuvorkommende Gastgeberin. Wir können die Unterkunft wĂ€rmstens weiterempfehlen. EfcharistĂł, Rosa - fĂŒr die tolle Zeit, die wir in deiner Unterkunft verbringen konnten.

Old town was very interesting and Welcoming House was in a great location from which to walk it. Good to be fairly close to a gate, as pulling luggage across the old cobble stones wasn't as bad as it could have been. Loved the garden area and the hosts were so nice...even met us at the gate to guide into the place.

Toller Urlaub

Wir waren eine Woche in dem zauberhaften Appartement von Dora und Rosa, Beide Damen sind ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Lage ist fantastisch, nicht weit zum Parkplatz (Autofreie Altstadt) und mittendrin. LÀden und Restaurants alle fusslÀufig und die Altstadt selbst ist wirklich wunderschön. Great experience all around!!)))

We stayed as a family of 5, with three kids aged 14, 9 and 4. Awesome little house right within Old Town walls, great garden with flowers and fruit trees! Best of all, though, is Rosa - the de-facto host! She was a blessing in disguise, helping out on everything from a celebratory bouquet to taxis, travel guidance, and all the little things we needed along the way)) Rosa, a hug from us all - you made our stay a resounding success))) one little minor issue - the place doesn't have a microwave, which could come in real handy with kids. Other than that - top grade, if you're looking for a cozy stay within a walking distance from literally everything in Old Town and a minute walk to the taxis and buses!
