Check in wasnt very welcoming but the hotel is beautiful, historic, and very comfortable. Perfect location too. Staff in the var were friendly. Food was excellent but I didnt have breakfast.
Heated floor in the bathroom was the BEST.

A beautiful, cozy hotel. Friendly and professional staff. I really liked it. There is a Michelin-recommended restaurant on the ground floor. Excellent breakfast. You can choose between buffet and/or à la carte.

Outdated room and interior and not the vintage outdated type. The dirty carpet and bad shower type. The type that your clothes start stinking of fried food while you have breakfast. Definitely not a five star hotel. Even worse the service was terrible. We were placed in a room and next morning we were told we need to move to another room. We refused to move and the manager said he would call the police. We told him we would be happy to talk to the police. At that point he called someone and the problem was resolved.

I only spent one night at the Grand Palace Hotel, but both the staff and the property were wonderful. The location is perfect, with easy access to the best spots in Riga. I’d highly recommend it and would love to return for a longer stay.

The hotel is in the heart of the old town and about a 15min walk from the train station. It is a luxurious place to stay, with a large room and bed, underfloor heating in the bathroom and friendly staff.
