Explore the island's diverse birdlife and, with a bit of luck, experience the impressive natural spectacle of the so-called Black Sun, when huge flocks of starlings darken the sky. A trip to Ribe, the oldest town in Denmark, is also worthwhile. Visit the cathedral or the Wadden Sea Centre in Vester Vedsted to learn more about the unique ecosystem of the Wadden Sea UNESCO World Heritage Site.
