We have just stayed 4 nights at the Robertson Hotel which was very disappointing. Our room was spacious however it lacked so much. There was no wardrobe or draws in the room only a towel rack to hang cloths. There was no tea or coffee making in the room only in the hallway for everyone to use which kept running out of coffee. There was no fridge in the room. We normally only use skim milk in our tea and coffee so we carry our own but we were not able to have it for the 4 nights as we could not keep our milk cold. There was only 1 single exposed PowerPoint which was at floor level. All other power points were behind the bed. With only 1 single PowerPoint how do we and families charge multiple phones, ipads and laptops and not even have a table to put them on. My partner likes to wash her hair while we are away but there was no hair dryer in the bathroom and I use an electric shaver however there was no PowerPoint in the bathroom to use her travel hair dryer and my electric shaver. Some of the blackout curtains need replacing as they were badly torn.
The hotel has that old world charm and is expensive to stay however having stayed in many hotels throughout the world and within Australia I could only give it a 2 1/2 to 3 star rating. The accommodation rooms are on the 1st and 2nd floors with no lift.
I had a room with shared bathroom. Room was nice and quiet. There are 2 shared bathrooms- one for ladies and one for gents. The ladies had 3 toilets and 2 XXL shower cubicles to shower and dress. Very clean, tidy and well stocked. Downside was my room was at the end of the hall so a bit of a walk at night. Lovely old charm hotel.
We enjoyed a Murder Mystery night. The food was ok, would have been better warm. Breakfast was also cold - warming up the plates would help on cold days.
Beautiful heritage property. Friendly staff. Great food. Lots of thought of little touches like the bookshelf and coffee tea making facility on the floor I was staying at. Also the fire places, piano, and lounges everywhere makes this place special and welcoming. It wasnât my first time here and will not be my last. Highly recommend nearby attractions. Fitzroy Falls (also has a tourist centre and cafe), Belmore falls (both falls can be seen within a couple hundred meters if not less, with the option to walk further), Robertson Pies, the local shops attraction including the cheese and olives store, etc.
Beautiful old world hotel. Love the fireplaces and the knick knacks around the hotel.
Needs a lot of maintenance. Our toilet door wouldn't close. One of the cold taps wouldn't turn on and the two hot taps wouldn't turn off! Heating in room also didn't work.
After booking on line on day of arrival, received a call during lunch from hotel demanding credit card. Dod not feel comfortable giving so declined. On check in reception was rude, did not say welcome or hello, or have a nice stay. My credit card was typed manually into the hotel computer which made me feel uncomfortable. Despite hotel being empty was put in small room with good view of the bins. On checkout manager was rude in providing directions to pool. I noticed that as soon as we had left the room a cleaner went to a room to check, coming back with a towel we forgot. I have no idea if they deleted my credit card detail. In all the commotion i left my phone charger in room which hotel will nit send me without me first posting a reply paid envelop.
A pleasant stay, comfortable bed, lovely bathroom, great bar and relaxing sitting areas. Winter would be extra special. Parking not so good and no staff when checking out, waited far too long and itâs become very pricey.
As a heritage style building it is quaint, but the lack of a lift and no air conditioning is not ideal. The general shared area for communal tea making and adjacent library are not cleaned or vacuumed regularly. Room windows cannot be opened despite absence of air conditioning. Overpriced for the service provided.
Second visit almost as good as the first. Lovely old hotel, great vibes in the lounge area. Chose to eat in town as menu had changed since our last visit and had limited options.
We had a great stay at The Robertson. We enjoyed the grand old hotel and grounds. The staff were helpful and very kind. We enjoyed a couple meals there and the food was terrific.
