This is consistently a great hotel and yet seems to be underutilised - go have a try. Oostplein is very conveniently located to most attractions but lacks the name say of Rotterdam Central or the Erasmus bridge.

Short walk to Oostplein tram stop. There is a metro stop nearby too. Room was comfortable, if a little dark, even after getting a lightbulb for light over desk area. Fridge was useful Decent shower Unusual to have separate toilet to shower & sink area. Very tasty hot breakfast

The design of the hotel is beautiful. The receptionists and bartender were all kind. The hotel room itself was beautiful, clean with a wonderful view however, there was a night where we experienced the elevator not working, no one on site and had to force the doors open to be able to enter our rooms. The internet was also not working so we were scared we’d be locked out of our hotel. When we notified the staff the next day they gave us free breakfast for 2 days. Honestly, I would have appreciated that night refunded because I had never experienced something like this with a hotel before and questioned where we’d sleep that night had we not been able to open the door. On our last day, a particular lady working in the buffet was very rude and disrespectful to multiple people including myself. Beautiful place, just had a terrible experience with the elevator and lady at the buffet. Besides that, everything was wonderful.

The place is nice, quite a walk to the center but still walking distance.. has a couple of nice places to eat around. The staff at the reception is a bit cold but they are ok, seems like the less you engage with them the more they are happy

Good but no elevator

Elevator was broken so they offered free breakfast which I only used 1 of 3 mornings. I was able to work comfortably from the hotel and the gym was decent with free weights.

I have never had such a poor experience at a hotel. When we arrived there was some kind of older adult rave happening inside and the entire entrance of the hotel was blocked off. We didn’t believe this was our hotel and spent some time totally confused on the sidewalk until realizing and having to walk through the party with all our luggage and drunk people waving us along. The front desk staff was rude and short and totally unapologetic for the seriously loud noise in the lobby that made it nearly impossible to hear him. When we finally got the keys to our room we were struck by the dirty stained carpet in the hallway and how hot and stuffy the room was. The icing on the cake was that there was no sheets on the bed. This place was unclean and lacked hospitality in every way and was a terrible first impression of Rotterdam. Do yourself a favor and do not stay here.

Great staff with a broken hotel on their hands.

Preface our review by fact that elevator not working . No chance of repair. Necessitating carrying heavy pieces of luggage up very steep and dangerous stairs. I am 84 and wife 72. We would have cancelled and sought another hotel.had we known. This after tranatlantic air travel and 7 hour time diff. Our first room had termites swarmingthereby needingto change to a higher floor. I can go on and on about air not working, no ability to call desk because staff was helping people with bags. Plugs foruUS folks needed adapter so phones not charged. Location a neighborhood at least with a grocery around corner. Now kudos to valiant staff who were outstanding. Especially the following people: Collins, Vaselika and Sven.

The staff are helpful and friendly. The bar is good. Rooms are spacious and lovely beds. My only ask is for fitted sheets instead of normal sheets.

This hotel is listed as a 4* hotel but it’s lacking basic toiletries. We had to buy tissue paper, conditioner and lotion at the store next door. The layout of the room is very inconvenient. Breakfast is was extra cost when we booked and it was very basic.

Quirky property with lovely big room ...but noisy at night. Our stay was slightly by the the fact that the lift was out of order... My travel companion found the 60 steps every time we left or returned to our room, exhausting. Staff were, on the whole, helpful. This hotel is ideally located near to a metro station and within walking distance of key sites (the cube houses and market hall). It was nice to have a coffee machine in the room .. but I was disappointed that decaf was not an option. Breakfast was nice. A limited, but tasty, choice of hot options - the bread selection was lovely. It set us up well for each day.

A large room which was stylishly furnished in a retro style! Well equipped with coffee machine and a fridge. Aircon wasn’t particularly effective but the huge windows opened so it wasn’t a major problem. Some minor maintenance is required (eg curtains detached from rail at the edge), but overall a good experience
