Escape to the scenic countryside! This listing is for the private UPSTAIRS LEVEL only (4 bd/4.5 bath). No one will be downstairs during your stay. We have another listing for renting the entire 7 bd/9 bath home.

Here's what you can expect to find in the home:

KITCHEN: huge island, stainless appliances (oven/range, microwave, dishwasher, fridge), Keurig & regular coffee maker, pots/pans, dishware, glasses, and everything needed to make basic meals.

LIVING ROOM #1: 2 leather couches, 2 swivel chairs, 55" smart TV for guests to log in to Netflix and other apps

THE LOUNGE: large sectional, bistro table w/ 2 stools

DINING ROOM: table and chairs for 8, buffet for serving food, lots of windows and great views of the orchard and lake

BEDROOMS: (Each of the 4 bedrooms is named after a different apple variety and has its own full bathroom for greater privacy.)

BEDROOM #1: (Pink Lady room) Queen bed, accent chair, large closet, full bathroom w/ shower

BEDROOM #2: (Gala room) Queen bed, accent chair, dresser, large closet, and full bath w/ shower

BEDROOM #3: (Granny Smith room) Queen bed, accent chair, tall dresser, large closet, full bathroom w/ shower

BEDROOM #4: (Winesap Master Bedroom) Queen bed, sleeper sofa, desk, armoire, 2 large closets, full bathroom w/ double sinks, toilet, bidet, and shower

PORCH: table and chairs for outside dining, sitting area for lounging and coffee

LAUNDRY ROOM: laundry room/mud room for guest use

CLIMATE CONTROL: The home is heated and cooled with central heat & air.

PARKING & CHECK IN: Guests park around the back of the home and check in with a personalized code anytime after check in.

MOBILITY: For our guests with mobility issues, there are 5 brick steps outside to get up to the porch, and then one more step up into the kitchen. The rest of the home is level.

FIREPLACE: Sorry, fireplace use is not permitted.

DRIVEWAY: The drive to the home from the entrance to the farm is about a 3/4 mile gravel driveway.

APPLES: This is a working farm, and because of food safety regulations, we unfortunately can't allow guests to enter the apple orchards or pick any apples, but we encourage you to walk around the lake, enjoy the open space & take in the fresh air and sights of the orchard.

GUESTS WILL HAVE USE OF THE ENTIRE UPSTAIRS. You are likely to see farm workers on tractors or trucks, but the farmhouse will be yours.


Due to its semi-remote location, there are a few things to keep in mind:

*The WIFI works well, but it is not quite strong enough for streaming and working remotely. We recommend downloading anything you'd like to watch ahead of time, casting from your phone, etc.

*Cell phones will work well

*We promise to resolve any unforeseen maintenance issues that may arise as quickly as possible, but ask for your flexibility in understanding the limitations to being a semi-remote location.

AREA DAY TRIPS: Popular day trips include hiking in the Blue Ridge Parkway, visiting the Appomattox Courthouse, Natural Bridge, Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest, Virginia Safari Park, visiting Smith Mountain Lake and Liberty University's Snowflex Center (year-round skiing & tubing).

NEIGHBORHOOD: The farmhouse is located in Rustburg, VA on a large apple orchard. The small town center of Rustburg is 7 minutes from the house, where you can find a grocery store, a few restaurants, pizza takeout, etc. It's an easy 20-25 minute drive into the city of Lynchburg, which has all the conveniences and dining options you could ever want. (not to mention a charming historic downtown worth checking out!)
