20 Bellevue Road - a house that sleeps 3 guests in 2 bedrooms
A cosy cottage for three people situated in the heart of Ryde, just a short walk to the beach, shops, bars and restaurants. This tastefully decorated Victorian semi-detached cottage is also in an excellent location for guests arriving on foot, with good train, bus and ferry links nearby. Offering one double and one single bedroom, this property is perfect for families and couples alike. The outside area offers a decked courtyard ideal for al-fresco dining after a busy day exploring all the island has to offer.
The once lovingly furnished house is unfortunately no longer in very good condition and furnishings. It would need to be thoroughly cleaned and the missing dishes, kitchen utensils, etc. replaced. The chimney flue is not working properly and the pressure of the hot water pipe for showers is poor. What was most annoying was the poor cleaning: cobwebs from the ceiling, thick dust everywhere, the furniture greasy from the fireplace. There was neither a mop mob nor a vacuum cleaner to help yourself. The contact with the agency was very good.
We looked with enthusiasm at our holiday. But were terribly let down: (1) car parking was a problem (2) accommodation was basic with no "Visitors Book" to leave comments (3) beds were uncomfortable (4) cooking utensils were sparse. When we normally rent there is always a bottle of wine, a few biscuits or snacks and other bits and pieces to get started. Never Again.
Very happy with the house, cleanliness, equipment and communication. Great location with all amenities close to hand.
I would definitely recommend booking this house.
The only thing I would change is I would install an outside light, as it is dark when returning at night.
Well maintained. Clean. Central location.
Would be helpful to add more items to the list of facilities so that we didnât have to bring unnecessary items, for example, iron and hairdryer. Not everyone travels by car.
