Needs a good housekeeping. Our room smelled stale when we checked in. Opened the windows and aired it out. The bed was worn thin. Deep indentations in the mattress. Carpet was old and dirty. Shower control for bath and shower water direction was broken. Soap dispenser was broken. No toilet paper. Just paper squares

Love everything about the hotel. Its a beautiful old building but still warm and cosy. The food and wine is excellent and staff very friendly. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. Loads of shops and bars on the doorstep. We've stayed a few times now with our dog and have never been disappointed.

Stunning hotel, oozing with charm and original features. Excellent location for exploring St Malo. Underground secure parking only 5 min walk, 18 euros per 24hr. Brasserie was superb, the chateaubriand was perfect, the staff were friendly and patient with our limited French. I would highly recommend room 453, the best in the hotel.

A great couple of days

Excellent location. Beautiful town with numerous shops, bars and restaurants. Hotel is beautifully decorated and is swell preserved piece of history. Breakfast was an issue though…. Served from 7am to 10am, yet when we arrived for breakfast at 8:50 all the hot food was finished. This matter was resolved with a refund but was very disappointing.

Hotel was convenient and in a good position inside the IntraMuros. Hotel/rooms are quite old and worn. Air con didn’t work so room was very hot. Close to many restaurants and shops.

The bedroom was comfortable, the bed faced the french windows which opened up to a view of the ramparts and the sea. The bed was very comfortable and there was an ensuite. Hotel located centrally in the heart of one of the main squares, convient for shops, accessing the ranparts and the port. It has a wonderful restaurant attached.

Déco des espaces communs, salles de restaurant et chambre très appréciées. Un site historique bien modernisé. Emplacement de l’hotel parfait. Petit bemol sur la viennoiserie et le pain du petit déjeuner, bon mais il y a mieux. Serveur de la brasserie pour dîner, très courtois et sympathique. Merci à lui. We stayed at the hotel during Bastille Day. The location was absolutely perfect — right in the heart of it all. We enjoyed wonderful live entertainment in the restaurant downstairs, delicious food and drinks, and then strolled along the ocean walk to watch the spectacular fireworks display celebrating France’s national day. An unforgettable experience. Our room had a lovely view of the beach and a small fortress out in the sea. The room itself was in great condition with a very comfortable bed. The staff were both friendly and accommodating. On top of that, the hotel interior was stylish — above average, for sure. Highly recommended! Note: If you’re arriving by car, be aware that the streets are narrow, it can be crowded, and parking is limited. However, there’s an underground parking facility just nearby.
