Seaton Court has a fascinating past, the hall was named after the de Seton dynasty who resided from 1130 to 1307 and whose family made allegiances with and marriages to the Scottish Royal family. Passed down through generations, before slipping into disrepair. The present owner (who is descended from one of the previous residents Sir Francis Bigod) purchased the estate in 2002 and employed a team of specialist masons and craftsmen who have been lovingly rebuilding and restoring this incredible place of local heritage. Located in private grounds on the edge of Staithes on the breathtakingly beautiful North Yorkshire Coast, surrounded by the heather clad North Yorkshire Moors.
The local cafe and bistro, owned by the owners, open seven days a week is well worth a visit after a day of exploring!
Stepping inside Seaton Court you enter into the hallway, where your walking boots and coats can be stored in the utility room. Through into the open plan living room with a dining area and a bespoke hand crafted kitchen looking out onto your own patio with the rolling countryside beyond. Cast your eyes up into the incredible supporting beams and the ancient hand carved masonry above the feature fire place. Each cottage here has wonderful unique features and charm, showcasing its heritage. Upstairs you have two bedrooms, a double and a twin which can be made up as a double on request, plus an additional double bedroom down stairs. This is an ideal choice for families as well as groups of friends looking to create memories to treasure together.

I had no information about key code or anything, turns out company who look after bookings didnt do there job right, the house needs some TLC cobwebs all over the place no lighting outside to have a quite drink outside, dining chairs kept falling apart the backs of them. Toilet upstairs wouldnt flush properly. The locations is good and the cafe serves nice food and we bought a few things from the antique shop, took a bus to whitby cost ÂŁ2 each way and had a nice day there.
