Great location, admin heavy

A fantastic location next to the beach and we enjoyed being there. However, the basics were lacking that are common in equivalent Properties (we've stayed at 8 Italian location this year) such as no soap in the toilet. One of the deck chairs was broken, as was the insect screen on the back door (facing the sea) which suggests less than careful checking of the property. Then there was the online checkin and punitive contract. The check-in requires photos of the photo page and back of the passport (which is blank) and the a selfie showing you and the passport. For all guests. Then the owner still wanted to see and take photos of our passports on arrival. Either one or other is needed not both which is what we experienced at all other locations. Then you get a request to sign the contract and then one to pay the deposit. Drip drip interruptions and duplicate checks. I would have cancelled after reading the contract if I could have found an alternative place to stay.
