I felt comfortable, despite initial problem with my reservation through Expedia (which took 3 calls to resolve), and some construction noise. I stayed 4 nights in the 6bed dorm room. I miss the hostel dog Amazon, the most. It's a very basic hostel but staff/volunteers/owner/guests were very nice. There's a water shortage in Samana so no long hot showers, or even much water cold water due to weak water pressure. Wifi was intermittent at times. Breakfast was good, something different every morning. Location is good, walking distance to everything. I joined the tour to Haities suggested by the hostel. Was good. I enjoyed the local small beach and a few of the nearby restaurants. Nice view from the Chinese restaurant.
