Bad experience - sign theft.
1. This hotel is definitely not worth the rate I paid. It should be a much lower rate.
2. The clerk who checked me in acted inconvenienced. He was robotic and never smiled. He did, however, change my room from 3rd floor to first floor like I originally requested in my online reservation which was ignored for some reason.
3. The a/c only cooled the room well at night.
4. The floor was dirty.
5. The fridge door would not shut and seal so I couldnât use it.
6. The smoke detector in the hallway just outside of my room had a low battery and chirped loudly every 10 seconds. None of the staff seemed concerned. Itâs an easy fix.
7. My main complaint is that the cleaning staff stole my little âdo not disturbâ sign that I made myself. I travel a lot for work and stay in many hotels. I will sometimes have to extend for a day or two, so I made my own little sign and laminated it. Itâs very well done with red font and explains the extension and how room service is not needed. Itâs in English and Spanish. I attached it to the room door before I left in the morning. When I returned that evening, it was gone. I confronted the desk clerk about it and she didnât think that the cleaning crew would take it. I explained that I would not back down and would report it as theft. I suggested that if they deny taking it, we can review the security camera footage. Well, the sign miraculously turned up within 30 minutes at the front desk. I was given no explanation as to why it was taken.
