There was no screen on the window, the safe didn't work (dead batteries possibly), there was no seal or weatherstripping on the door to the adjoining room so when the person in the room next door uses the bathroom, the room floods with light (and noise from the bathroom).
No AC so it was balmy in the room. No rod in the closet for the (only 3) hangers to actually use. Had to find ways to hang clothes from the dusty door hinges, doorknobs (ew) or light fixtures (unsafe).
There are outlets in the room with no coverplate (unsafe), the door sticks so you have to make sure to pull it into the jamb so that it locks.
And most of all, there was no fitted sheet on the bed so when it comes loose, the icky raw mattress is exposed, which is gross.
There was no way to dim the lights, so either the room is 100% bright or 100% dark.
Maybe the room was cheap by San Francisco standards, but there are junkies shambling around the door, no hotel staff in the lobby, and human feces on the sidewalk outside, sad sights really. Would not recommend.
