Summary:

Casa Cerro Verde is a 6BR / 6.5BA mountain villa for 6–16 guests, including two private casitas, located in the mountains of Alajuela just 25 minutes from SJO. Nestled in coffee country, it offers sweeping Central Valley views with a 200+ degree panorama stretching from Barva, Turrialba, and IrazĂș volcanoes to Cabo Blanco in the Nicoya Peninsula. Enjoy an infinity plunge pool-jacuzzi, sunset patios, yoga deck, A/C, Wi-Fi, gated parking, and an optional private chef.



The Space:

Sip local coffee on the patio. Enjoy a hot tub soak overlooking the twinkling lights of the Central Valley. Less than 30 minutes from downtown San Jose, we are located on the route to Poas Volcano, La Paz Waterfall Gardens, coffee plantation tours – including the new Starbucks sustainable coffee farm - and the closest beaches are 75 minutes away.



Casa Cerro Verde features: Main House: 4 Bedrooms, 3 with Queen beds and 1 with Twin Bunk Beds. Each bedroom has its own Full Bathroom with Shower, plus a 1/2 bath off the Living Room.



Main area features fireplace, 64-inch flat screen, cable, telephone, free WiFi, outdoor patio, Yoga deck, chef upon request, and tour information and reservations available. Yoga and Meditation Mats available and massage can be arranged with notice.



Just outside the front door are 2 independent Studio Apartments (Cabinas), each with 1 Queen Bed, Full Bathroom, and Living Area. These Studio Apartments each have a front sitting area with amazing views of the twinkling lights of the city below.



The impressive Infinity Plunge Pool Jacuzzi allows you to soak in the cool mountain air and have magnificent views of the Central Valley.



We follow Airbnb’s enhanced cleaning protocol, which was developed with expert guidance. Here are a few highlights:

The Neighborhood:

If you want privacy and seclusion, this is your dream house. The location is on a quiet street just outside the small community of Pilas. A long dirt driveway takes you to the front gate entrance and guard house. Once the main gate is open, you enter into a world of gardens and serenity overlooking the city of Alajuela. There are no neighbors close to the house so it's the ultimate in privacy.

Women's Retreat

We visited this property for two nights as a group of 11 women working on our personal growth. The house was perfectly suited to our needs and had just the right amount of space for all of us to spend time together as a group. We enjoyed the deck and green spaces for dancing and meditation, and the common area is well suited for sitting by the fire or on the beautiful meditation cushions provided in circle. The table only seats 6 but we were able to add 5 chairs from the patio so in the end it worked. There are 4 bedrooms in the main house, each with private full baths. One of them with the bunk bed is a bit small but it works. The other has two queen beds, one with a nesting bed underneath, tight, but it works. There are two rooms with full baths apart from the main house, which have incredible views of the valley. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning. Felipe was incredibly attentive and helpful, very kind.

This house is a short drive from San Jose airport, into the mountains north of the airport. This setting provides beautiful views of the valley and the city of San Jose. Our host, Felipe, kept in touch with us during our stay and was most-accommodating of all of our needs. He is an asset to this rental property. The house is as-described -- spacious, clean and well-appointed. There are small restaurants nearby for a quick lunch or dinner, and access into San Jose is quick and easy for sightseeing and city tours. This house and this location were all we were hoping for and more. We would definitely stay here again!! Pura Vida!!

More time please

Beautiful private property with breathtaking views overlooking the valley of San Jose. The property manager was very responsive and helpful. They helped set up rides and shuttles to the airport. The place is spacious and feels cozy, when we arrived we wished we could have had more time. It was such a special place to end our trip, enjoying the city lights of the evening and the sunrise in the morning.

Amazing View an Property!

The house is beautiful and spacious with excellent views of the valley. We had the whole family there. The grand kids liked roaming the grounds looking for butterfly’s while us older adults enjoyed the fresh air and the view. I don't know if I can say enough about our stay, it was incredible. The house was amazing with gorgeous views both day and night. But I have to be completely honest, the hospitality we received from Felipe was the most memorable and appreciated. Felipe goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need to enjoy your stay. If I could give more than 5 stars it would be because him. Felipe also set up with an amazing private chef, Chef Gabriel!!! I highly recommend that you ask for his amazing service during your stay. He was professional and the food he prepared was outstanding, we enjoyed our meal out on the patio while enjoying the panoramic view of the San Jose city lights. I feel like we gained great friendships from our stay, which I've never been able to say about past reservations. Thank you so much for the amazing experience! Pura Vida!!!

If you have the opportunity to be in this incredible space you have to take it! Our second stay here and it just feels like home. We Love This House!

Our party of 8 had a fantastic stay. Felipe made sure there was dinner at the house (for a reasonable charge) when our plane was delayed and all the restaurants were already closed due to COVID. Each couple had a separate space, it is glorious to have your own bathroom in each room, and the sunrise was a memory we won’t forget! We have already booked the house again for the last couple days of our trip. This is truly a retreat!

Fantastic Family Getaway

Perfect for our family reunion! Fit our 15 family members with room to spare. The view was amazing and it was a convenient drive to the airport. The staff was very attentive. We had problems with the oven the first night and they replaced it with a new one the next day. We had the chef prepare half of our meals and they were so good, we wish we tried more of his dishes. All of them were spectacular, but Caribbean dishes are his specialty! Our kids were clamoring for more patacones. Thank you for such a delightful stay.

Great mountain top pad with big views!

This property is kind of a bond villain/narco lair ensconced behind two ominous gates. It boasts expansive views of the entire central valley from its perch atop the mountains of Alajuela. The photos are no exaggeration. The house is huge, with four bedrooms and a second casita consisting of two more bedrooms with en-suite baths. The living room is room vast and it has a useful covered porch area with a bbq and outdoor dining table. The clean and modern kitchen is well-equipped. Parking behind the second porton is awkward because there is no turn-around but it feels like cars left outside would be secure. The property is located in a bucolic neighborhood reminiscent of old Tiquicia. Easy access to Poas and the La Paz Waterfall Park make this a good choice if those are on your agenda. There is an Auto Mercado (great supermarket) nearby and a first-rate Mirador restaurant just down the road. Strangely, one of the world's largest indoor malls is also located nearby. You will have to navigate downtown Alajuela to get to the airport but you avoid the dreaded Pista which is endlessly under construction. The agent is responsive and there is also a contact just up the street. This is a good thing because you are entirely dependent of the somewhat janky remote control openers for the gates (hence only 4 stars on the "check-in" category). Don't lose or damage the openers or you will be trapped by the giant gates. Also be aware that you can easily lock your keys in the house because the locking hardware is not set up to be left unlocked. Recommended.

The best view and most comfortable stay!

We love this house! We keep coming back :) Having been all over the San Jose valley, this house is consistently wonderful. The house is in the clouds, the weather is always perfect. Clean and comfortable, and so easy to get anywhere from the location! The kitchen is fully stocked and fun to cook in.... You are 8 min from Automarcado (a very nice grocery store). We feel safe and able to relax and unwind! Felipe, the property manager is amazing and incredibly helpful. He helped us have covid tests at the house for our return to the US. Everything you need is close by in Alajuela!

Stunning view - comfortable home

The view is spectacular. It is as if you are in heaven with the sky, then a cloud forest, then watching the sunset, moonrise, sunrise. Beautiful and etheric. We loved our stay. The house is just as it is described. The bedrooms are suites, each has its own bathroom. So while you are close together in the house, it doesn't feel that way. The energy is very good, very clear and nurturing. The kitchen is well equipped - there is an excellent grocery store is 8 min away. Felipe is very responsive and welcoming. Wifi is great :) The patio is amazing. You will feel at home. We will definitely stay again!

Amazing

This place was so beautiful, the view that you get at sunrise and sunset was amazing, at night you get to enjoy the valle central city lights, it was breath taking. The house it’s so big that even with lots of people everyone can have their alone time, each bedroom with their own full bathroom was perfect, the kitchen had all the utensils that we need it everything easy to find and very clean. The manager Felipe was an amazing host explain all the details, walk me through the grounds of the property, explain all the rules, always had a fast response of any question I had for him about the property. Definitely will be staying here again :)
