This hotel has a great location right on the beach with a lovely deck area with firepits as well as a rooftop deck with a couple of lounge chairs and a seating area. However the hotel didn't seem worthy of the high nightly room charge. We had a standard room with no ocean view. The room was quite large but rather ordinary given the cost. They do serve food but there is no wait staff. You order at the counter. All in all, a nice stay but we had higher expectations.

Pismo on the beach

We wanted to make a quick run to the beach and enjoy staying in Pismo Beach. The Sandcastle is right at the beach and has wonderful views of the ocean. We have stayed before and love the hotel for its proximity to the beach. It has expanded its food choices but more like a bistro without a formal dining area. Several tables available but we took our meals back to the room. Since we were on the first floor and only feet from the food service we just walked over and got our meals. We had a double queen with ocean view with the room pretty much like all hotels. Not especially roomy but had all we needed for our visit. Table, mini-fridge, coffee service and plenty of drawer and closet space for our stay. Has two outside common areas with firepits providing warmth on the chilly mornings and evenings. Sometimes crowded with children as the parents probably ran them off to get a little break. They have a wine and beer selection although we are not connoisseurs. If it is total room luxury you are looking for this probably is not the place but if you want to be able to live ON THE BEACH this is the place to be. Pricing is pretty much in lne with most hotels along Pismo. Of course pricing goes up and down depending on season plus the have major car show in town late May.
