One of the best hotel experiences ever. The staff is kind and prompt, the food is fresh and delicious, the rooms are stunning, the views are stunning and the grounds of the property are a small paradise. You felt you were in your own little heaven.
Beautiful hotel. If you imagine paradise, this is what it would look like!
The hotel is hidden away in a garden, overlooking the Lake Atitlan.
The view is everything, you forget all your worries there.
We were greeted by Paul, who did an amazing job during our entire stay. Had the help of Gabriela to plan out all of our activities. I recommend starting your day with a yoga class to energize yourself. As well as taking a trip to Santiago Atitlan to discover the Mayan culture, or even walking over to the Santa Cruz.
And we were delighted by all the food that was prepared for us by Chef Juan Carlos (try the risotto).
To note their is no road access, you will have to drive to the Lake, and then take a small boat to the resort. Or come in via Helicopter.
Be prepared to want to stay longer. My mom and I have traveled to many places together but we can’t recall a hotel more tranquil and peaceful as Casa Prana. A lot of thought has gone into making Casa Prana the unique luxury hotel that it is. There are thoughtful touches throughout, such as candles lit all over the inside and outside of the property, peaceful music playing in relaxing lounging areas, Buddha statues that hold fresh-cut flowers every day, and herbs from the garden in the drinking water. Every freshly made meal is delicious and presented artfully. My mom enjoyed the fresh fish of the day specials, while I loved all of the vegan and vegetarian options. Although at times there were other guests on the property during our stay, we never saw or heard anyone else. There are so many tucked-away seating and lounging areas in the gardens that it makes you feel that you are the only person on the property.
All the staff members at Casa Prana work hard to make you feel comfortable and at ease without being intrusive. The communication with Juan Carlos before and during our stay was superb. He always answered any questions I had in a timely manner. He was even able to arrange last-minute massages at their wellness center (I highly recommend the energy massage). We also booked our tours through Casa Prana to the towns of Lake Atitlán and a market tour to Chichicastenango. The guides and drivers they recommended were knowledgeable, super fun, and patient while we were sh
Overall an incredibly beautiful spot that is secluded. So if you like remote and don't mind the odd outage (regular for this part of the country) you will love it. Food was okay but the views and proximity to other towns made up for it.
Absolutely heavenly grounds. Really hard to get a sense in photos of just how pretty it is. I wish I had more sun when I was there since the views must be incredible. But the flowers and walkways are like something out of Eden. The manager is also really excellent and attentive.
Personally, even though it is not out at night, I would have preferred having a/c as it gets stuffy, but think most people would not mind. Also, probably best as a couple or family since it is isolated and dinner is just wherever you would like to eat, rather than a restaurant so it feels less social. However, overall, I would highly recommend Casa Prana. It is a special place.
When my mom and I arrived at the property, we ended up immediately changing our plans so we could extend our stay at Casa Prana from 2 to 4 days.
Everything about this property is perfect. It’s proximity to other towns and the main hub of Pana is very close, yet the property feels secluded and peaceful. The service is top notch and it is evident that the staff are well trained to pay attention to detail.
I highly recommend getting a massage there - it was one of the best that we have ever had! The tours arranged by Casa Prana were fantastic.
Even though there were other guests at the property, we always felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Everything is well spread out that it feels intimate and private.
We can’t wait to go back!
We absolutely loved our stay with Casa Prana!! I really wished we stayed there more than 1 night to absorb the beauty and tranquility of this place. Every corner in this place is beautiful and well detailed, I can tell a lot of thought must have gone in the making of this heavenly resort. From the moment we booked this place to checking out, we received amazing customer service. We even fell in love with Mila, the sweetest resident atika.
The property is beautiful! Exceptional service, friendly staff, and there are only 8 rooms, so it feels like you are at your own private oasis. This stay was our favorite part of our trip! We will definitely be back!
The main building is like staying in a mansion, junior suites are more modern. The manager met us when we arrived with a hibiscus drink and gave us a tour of the property. Landscaping is outstanding; we saw 6-8 gardeners every day weeding, sweeping and taking care of the 204 varieties of plants. Yoga studio and gym are extremely clean with great views of the lake. They raise their own chickens so eggs at breakfast are fresh and have a hydroponic vegetable garden for veg and herbs. The Panamax ferry stop is 40 paces from the bottom door of property. Elegant, unique and magical.
At an exceptional property with the most breathtaking views, the staff were outstanding. A special shout out for Diana who was always on hand to make sure our stay was perfect. Especially liked the WhatsApp food ordering and dine anywhere arrangement as there were so many magical places to eat. This really is an outstanding hotel
Casa Prana is a stunningly landscaped, thoughtfully decorated and carefully attended to property. I would highly recommend this hotel for the person or group who is looking for a quiet and peaceful retreat along the shores of Lake Atitlan.
Amazing property, nice and responsive staff, very good food.

It does not have good access and facilities for older people. The hotel must ensure that the guests know how can you get to the hotel ... no cars allowed ...
