We spent 2 days in Santa Fe and El Ray Court was a big part of how much we enjoyed it. The room was large and clean, but the highlight was the food truck and bar. It was great to unwind with good food and a drink made with local spirits. Would've loved to have spent a few more days there.

The hotel is very cute and there are some pros: a great food truck, nice lobby space, in-room fridge. The hotel is right on a very busy street so you hear traffic in your room, especially if your room is toward the front of the property. The bathrooms are old and the shower had bugs in it. There was a dj set the Saturday night I was there and it went on an hour after the listed end time and with my room being so close to the lobby I could hear everything. The staff seemed totally unbothered and didn’t have an option to move me to a quieter room.

The dog had a great time. Plenty of places to run around on grass for potty breaks, etc. And so nice that he could hang out in the lobby, bar, all the public outdoor spaces, etc.

The rooms did not represent the marketing photos. Bathrooms were aged and rooms were barren. Lumpy pillows. It was not a comfortable experience, but the staff was nice. Coffee was served on time and delicious.

El Rey Court is a relaxing, unique stay. From the pool with a bar and hot tub to the food truck and chic bar, the amenities were just lovely. I loved the midcentury-style rooms.

Unique and Fun

Fun and artsy retro motor lodge upgraded to current comforts. As soon as we arrived, we relaxed and enjoyed our dinner at the food truck on site (delicious) and grabbed some wine from the friendly bar staff.

I liked it was built in 1929 in adobe style and you could park in front of your room. The only poor part was the air conditioner which was very noisy.

The property is obviously dated. The location is okay; two miles from downtown. There’s an adequate food truck and modest bar. The air conditioner was noisy and alternated between sounds of a wind turbine and Harley Davidson—don’t expect a good nights sleep.

El Ray is a time honored tradition. It has been the hot spot and an off spot over its many years. I am quite sure it has never bee as great as it is right now. Enough of everything for all members of a family including your pups, beautiful oasis from the strip of once great roadside stopins. A good food truck that meets all your needs while not competing with Santa Fe’s best, and the ease of friendly people and great management.
