This lovely, bright, cozy and full-equipped 2room suite is part of the small and amazing complex of Villa Paladino Solunto, immersed in a dreaming and relaxing atmosphere, between history and mythe, just at the gates of Palermo. It is a property of exceptional charm and prestige for the peculiarity of its site, by the unique characteristics in the area between Palermo and Cefalù.The three bodies of villa paladino solunto (the main building and the two bodies in which you fnd 5 suites, 3 three-room suites for 4 - 5 people and 2 two-room suites for 2 - 4 people) smartly stand on a lush hill, close to the Natural Reserve of Monte Catalfano and the Archeological Park of Solunto,the famous Phoenician and Greek - Roman city. Guided tours on foot of Monte Catalfano can be arranged. Along the coast, you can visit the Archaeological underwater Park of the Rock of the Ant. Boat trips with skipper in the clear waters around the Scoglio della Formica (the Rock of the Ant), home of dolphins, up to the Aeolian Islands and fishing can be arranged in summer. The closest sand beach is only met 800 far from the Villa. You can look at the Gulf of Palermo and Monte Pellegrino too ('The most beautiful promontory of the world', said Goethe, the well known German poet who came in Sicily in 19th century) from the windows of your bedrooms.The view of the sea embraces from Palermo to Cefalù until the high chain of Nebrodi and that over mountains reaches from Mount Pellegrino (Palermo) to the inner mountains of Sicily, the magnificent tops of Madonie (alt. m 2000), looking at the hills, the rocky promontories and the green valleys of Bagheria and Santa Flavia too. On these panoramic luxuriant hills of Bagheria you can admire a lot of beautiful eighteenth - century villas built by the best Sicilian nobility. Villa Paladino solunto is a fascinating and enchanting site,a very peaceful place where adults and children can enjoy and spend unforgettable holidays thanks to the gorgeous setting with an incredible pool similar to a natural lake in the middle of a large Mediterranean garden. Ii is also a good starting point with easy access to motorway and manageable driving time to majority of attractions. 200 meters away you may visit the touristic village of Santa Flavia and the fishing villages of Porticello and S.Elia, where you can taste delicious Sicilian dishes. Approximately 1 Km. after S.Elia, driving along the quite panoramic coastal road, that flows around the Natural Reserve of Monte Catalfano, you’ll get the promontory of Mongerbino and the seafaring village of Aspra and with its breath-taking views on the Gulf of Palermo and Monte Pellegrino. It is a strategic point to easily go sightseeing Palermo (Km.10, 30 minutes by car and 20 by train), the well known beach resort of Mondello and the town of Monreale, with the most beautiful and important Cathedral in the world, the famous medieval town of Cefalù, with its fantastic beach and the Arab-Norman Cathedral, the enchanting Castle of Caccamo, the well-known remains of Agrigento, the Museum of Mozia, the nice and little town of Erice, the Natural Reserve of Zingaro, the National Natural Madonie Park and many other places of great tourist interest.It 's possible to go in less than an hour from the sea to the mountain, taking part in sightseeing, excursions in the great Madonie National Park (alt m. 2000) a paradise of rare plants and protected animal species. If you haven't a car, you can easily go sightseeing Palermo, Cefalù, and many other places thanks to the nearest train Station of Santa Flavia (0,200 KM.) or the Bus Station of Bagheria: pullmans and trains leave each hour and are very cheap and convenient means of transport. The main body of Villa Paladino Solunto,well marked by the imposing tower embellishing it and erected in the beginning of the last century,is the meeting's centre of the International Institute for Advanced Studies of Space Representation Sciences, which is intended at the activities which are performed.

Perfect!

Our stay was perfect! The house, garden and pool were beautiful, the hospitality was great. Marida went out of her way to make us feel welcome and helped arrange several trips.

Simple and nice

The property was well kept, nice and clean. Location was okay. having a car was necessary. In summer, it was too hot to walk anywhere and it's a bit off of a busy street. The pool and views were fabulous.

Beautiful peaceful and private property, lovely pool area and facilities.

Peaceful and tranquil location, easy access into the town. Each villa has its own terrace and is quite private. The pool is lovely with comfy sun loungers, again quite easy to find a private spot if desired. The villas are spacious and nicely laid out, with lots of room. Comfortable bed. Secure properties with a gated entrance, the elevated position makes for some fabulous views. The owners Marida and Giuseppe are very friendly and helpful, with lots of suggestions for places to visit, eat and shop. Santa Flavia and Porticello are within walking distance (10-25 mins).

Cozy place to relax

It was a very nice holiday. Marida welcomed us warmly, even went to get pizza and beers for us the first evening, when we arrived relatively late (thank you!!!). The Villa is indeed a little bit remote, so if you like to take a walk in Santa Flavia or Porticello, it is recommendable to make the small trip from the villa to the village by car. Other than that, it fulfilled all our expectations. So if you like what you see on the pictures - book an apartment in the Villa Paladino Solunto :-)!

Aufenthalt im Oktober 2016

Die Unterkunft ist sehr sauber und gepflegt. Der Umfang der Küchenausstattung ist auf das Mindeste reduziert. Leider ist die Sitzgelegenheit im Wohnbereich sehr eingeschränkt - es handelt sich um eine "Gartenbank" - leider kein Sofa oder Sessels zum relaxen. Die Anlage und der Schwimmingpool sind ebenfalls sehr sauber und gepflegt. Von der Unterkunft konnte man sehr gut mit der Bahn Palermo erreichen - auch die östliche Stadt Cefalu kann mit dem Auto in 45 Minuten (über Autobahn) erreicht werden und ist empfehlenswert für einen Besuch. Die Badestrände waren steinig und während unseres Aufenthaltes sehr vermüllt. Nur der Sandstrand in Cefalu war sauber und wurde von uns regelmäßig besucht. Wenn man die Insel Sizilien im nördlichen Bereich erkunden möchte, ist der Aufenthalt im Feriendomizil zu empfehlen. Die Familie Musso ist sehr gastfreundlich und nett - vielen Dank nochmals an Familie Musso.
