There's a restaurant on site, as well as a coffee shop/cafe. You can enjoy a drink at the bar/lounge. WiFi and wired Internet are free in public spaces. The Plough Scalby also features a terrace, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services.
This is a nice place but we experienced quite a few issues. The listing says it is dog friendly but when we arrived it turns out this only applies to their self contained accommodation. We got no apology despite them agreeing that the listing wasnât accurate and we had to arrange for our dog to stay with family. The front door is locked when the pub is closed which is a bit annoying. The cleaning staff ignored the do not disturb sign on the door and let themselves in one morning. It all just seemed very disorganised and the staff werenât very professional, especially at breakfast and check in. Itâs a shame as the rooms are lovely, the bed is very comfortable, itâs clean and is otherwise a great place to stay.
Lovely quiet hotel in a small quiet village on the outskirts of Scarborough. Rooms were spotless, comfy beds, extra pillows already in room, fantastic shower (best we've had in a hotel), molten brown toiletries. Only down side was the noise from the extractor fan as we were in the back of the hotel. When mentioned staff were very apologetic as it hadnt been switched off at 9 as it should have been. Only gave 4/5 for amenities as there was only limited choice for gluten free evening meal, food otherwise was delicious. Would definitely recommend
Loved the property. It was beautifully decorated, and had everything you could possibly need. We have stayed with five star stays before, so this wasnât the first time and wonât be the last.
However the first staff member I spoke to on arrival at the Plough to collect the keys was nothing other than miserable!! Granted we did arrive 30 minutes early, but he was so dismissive of us. I donât know whether I disturbed his precious time but he was most unpleasant. Took the shine off the stay. He avoided me when I did go back at the correct time, clearly unhappy in life and working in the incorrect industry of customer service.
Really beautiful location in a nice village near Scarborough. Excellent room and everything you could want was available. All very nicely decorated and comfortable. The pub serves lovely food and was a relaxing place to stay.
This cozy cottage is the perfect retreat, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The bed is exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a restful nightâs sleep, and the space is well-equipped with all the essentials. Whether youâre cooking a meal, unwinding with a book, or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings, this cottage provides a true home-away-from-home experience. Ideal for a quiet getaway!
