We were a bit surprised by how tiny the room was in this hotel, and the view from our window was a hideous, pigeon dropping covered window. However, as tiny as it was, the room did have everything we needed, and I’m sure we could’ve located the rooms dimensions had we looked closer—so that’s on us. The toilets are what I can only describe as just like the toilet in an RV, one of our soap pumps didn’t work, and the chrome cast worked when it wanted to. Other than that, we had a good time here. The location is great, the decor is cool, and most of the staff at the front desk and bar were also really great.
Having guests “check themselves in”, when in reality, the front desk staff member just walks you through that process struck us as kind of inefficient, and a couple of times I asked for what I would consider very basic, classic cocktails at the bar and was met with “idk what that is” or “we can only make the ones on the menu” which…is not how bars work? And espresso martinis are not on the menu, yet, I had at least one everyday. The bartender working on Sunday, 8/17, at around 3pm, (I regret not getting her name, she had amazing gel-x nails she does herself)—she’s fantastic. There’s no shame in not knowing what’s in a drink, discuss it with the customer, google it, make it a conversation. That girl can show the rest of them how that’s done.
Overall, it’s obvious that management here cares how things are run and how people are treated, and we appreciated that very much.
