Large Mediterranean pool, river, basketball, sleeps 26, 8 bedrooms

This large 8 bedroom mediterranean waterfront home with private pool is one of the nicest vacation rentals in the New Braunfels/McQueeney/Seguin area. The 8th bedroom opens in February. Perfect for large groups, individuals, family reunions, church retreats and small family getaways. With 6000 sq ft, this home is large and features a full range of upgrades. Features include an elevator, sub-zero refrigerator, pool table, (2) living areas, basketball court, private pool and (2) canoes. The pool is oversized to handle the large groups. The backyard is chain-link fenced for the kids and pets. Pet fee $95.

The pool is oversized to accommodate large groups such as reunions and retreats. It is private and not a community pool. Pool closes November 15th and reopens March 8. The property (pool and courts) extend across the street. We may stop by to collect trash, check pool and/or answer guest questions.

Area activities include Schlitterbahn, Sea World, ZDT, Fiesta Texas, San Marcos Outlet Mall, San Antonio Riverwalk, San Antonio zoo and the Alamo.

Large property with lots of room. The property definitely was in need of a deep cleaning. I spent most of our first day dusting and cleaning. There are just way too many artificial plants and knickknacks that are gathering dust and spiderwebs. Bedding and linens were cleans and beds were comfortable though.

The house was wonderful for our party of 13 people. It is large and there are many places to relax both inside and out. My father enjoyed the pool immensely. Randy was very responsive and helpful with our communication. He even came over on our arrival date when I sent him an email with concerns about a possible leak with the fridge. Overall great place - just needs some clean up of outside (projects in process) and a deep clean and paint refresh in some areas. It is in a wonderful neighborhood.

The owner was very prompt when I called with any concerns. The coffee maker wasn’t working and within thirty minutes he was at the door with a new one & additional paddles for the canoe! We all (15 of us) had plenty of space to spread out and fun for every desire!

Stayed at this property for a long weekend early November. Host was very responsive to questions and had great communication. Checkout was a BREEZE which made getting our large group together and out on time the easiest part of the road trip by far. Plenty of air conditioning to make sure every one can be comfortable and the house is very spacious. Could use a bit of a deep clean but I do understand it’s on the water in the Texas summer so that may be part of it too. Overall it was a great house for my large group! Would stay again.

For the price, it's really a great deal. It's hard to find homes this large without breaking the bank. The home was clean and Randy was very quick to respond to questions. The neighborhood is very quiet and the kitchen is pretty well stocked.There are a few home quirks like no bathrooms on the first floor which has two rooms totalling 10 beds so if you bring a huge group, a lot of them may have to go upstairs in the middle of the night to use the restroom. There's also no water to the fridge and a few ice trays isn't gonna suffice if your group is huge so I'd bring a few bags. There was also no toiletries in any of the showers which was pretty surprising as I feel like most rentals at least stock things like soap but it was easy to remedy.Overall, I'd recommend this home to anyone with a big group who doesn't mind a few of the items mentioned above.

Good location. Very responsive host. We had 14 folks staying at the house for a long family birthday celebration weekend. I worried about three bathrooms with that many people but it was fine. Lots of seating and space for cooking, playing games and conversation.

Very large house with lots of room. The main floor had a great living area with couches seating 9 people. There are two very long tables that each seat 8. The pool and pickle ball court were great! The house needs serious cleaning on the outside - front door was covered in dust and cobwebs, windows were all very dirty on outside ruining view of river, outside patio areas behind house were full of leaves and dirty. Pictures of river sitting areas are not up to date ... only deck way above river remains but again, is not cleaned enough to be enticing. Inside is clean enough but needs some maintenance. Owner did mention that house has been rented all summer so its hard to get in to do that. Kitchen was large and had lots of plates and pots/pans. Showers had no amenities so bring body soap, shampoo, conditioner.

Summer Stay June 2025

The house is very large and provides many different areas for groups to sit and visit. The lake is low low because of work on the dam. We were not able to enjoy the lake. The swimming pool is wonderful. We spent many hours at the pool and the children really enjoyed it. The number of bedrooms made sleeping arrangements very easy. The house could use some TLC. For the cost, it was a good deal.

Spacious not clean

The place has a lot of potential—it's spacious and has everything you need in the kitchen. The owner met us on check-in, which was a first for me, as I rent a lot of places. This was a retreat, and the adults were inside assigning bedrooms when we arrived.The next day, an AC technician arrived to check on a “broken AC.” However, the AC wasn’t broken, and I never received any notice that he would be coming. While I was cooking in the kitchen, a man appeared without warning. The young adults were still sleeping, and I had to ask him to wait before going upstairs to ensure my girls were dressed. Unfortunately, he did not wait and went upstairs anyway.Additionally, there were roaches on the bed, and the outdoor equipment was in poor condition—damaged, torn, and covered in bird droppings. The pool was clean, but the area around it was not well-maintained.Overall, the place has great potential but is outdated and in need of better care. I’m sorry to leave this review as it's my first negative one, but I wouldn't recommend it as it stands.

Overall stay

Overall the house was great! We really enjoyed the amenities, like the pool and pickleball court. I would say the beds were very comfy minus the firm pillows. The outside needed more cleaning up, but the inside was very clean.

Plenty of room

The property easily accommodated our group. However if you have a large group, there are only 3 bathrooms. This made showering and getting ready for our outings a bit stressful. The students loved the pool, river, and the billiards table.

Pre Christmas Getaway

The property was as advertized. It was very spacious and with many rooms to accommodate our family. Our host was very informative, and prompt to answer any questions we had. The kitchen was filled with pots, pans and utensils for all our cooking needs.The main family rooms had plenty of updated seating where we played many games and enjoyed the billiards table, which i would consider an upgrade or repairs. Unfortunately there is no first floor bathroom, but the elevator was very helpful to gain second and third floor access. The pool was not cleaned, however the season was not in our favor and our host did state it's reason. I'm just not to fond with it's location across the street and slightly out of eye supervision. The river was at a low which was also stated, however the fishing was still great. Our son caught and resealed several 36" mud catfish. The canooing was also great. We would have liked to enjoy more outside gatherings on the patios but the seating was dirty and very worn. There was much leaves on the ground that we would have appreciated could have been removed prior to our visit We extremely enjoyed grilling and cooking marshmallows on the second floor fire pit, providing some fire wood would be a plus Over all, our stay was memorable and fun. It is just 30 minutes from San Antonio where we were able to visit our son and our new born grand baby. We will definitely look into booking again in the late summer season.
