A Bear Affair Retreat | Sauna | Movie Theater | Pigeon Forge | Gatlinburg

An elevated cabin escape that adults love—and kids can’t get enough of. Welcome to SmokySTR's A Bear Affair Retreat, a Smoky Mountain getaway made for the kind of trip that feels equal parts fun and exhale. You’re nestled in the woods when you want quiet, yet only about 10 minutes to downtown Pigeon Forge, Sevierville and Gatlinburg when you’re craving attractions, shows, and that mountain-town energy.

Here, the days move at your pace. Mornings are easy—coffee, comfort, and no rush. Evenings are what you’ll remember most: you settle in, decide what to watch, and the night naturally becomes a mix of movies, laughter, and “one more round” energy.

The entertainment space is designed to feel like a cozy lounge—perfect for being together without feeling overdone. Theater seating sets the tone for movie nights and big games, and once the fun starts, it’s hard to stop. Pool turns competitive, ping pong sparks a rematch, and the arcade lineup brings out everyone’s playful side. It’s the kind of setup where the kids are thrilled, and the adults are having just as much fun.

When you’re ready to slow it down, Bear Affair turns into a true unwind spot. Soak in the hot tub under the night sky, then switch gears with the Almost Heaven barrel sauna—warm, quiet, and deeply relaxing. Add string lights, fresh mountain air, and a charcoal-grilled dinner, and the whole cabin feels like a private getaway you don’t have to share with anyone.

When the night winds down, the comfort stays high. Two king suites give you that “vacation sleep” feeling, and the jetted Jacuzzi tubs make it easy to end the day like you’re in a private spa. Whether you’re here for a couples escape, a birthday trip, a bachelor/bachelorette weekend, a friends getaway, or a family trip where the kids want fun and the adults want relaxation, Bear Affair is built to deliver the same thing: a stay that feels easy, elevated, and genuinely memorable.

A Bear Affair is our personal family owned vacation retreat — a home we've poured care into and love sharing with guests like you. To keep it that way, all bookings require a signed renter agreement within 24 hours of booking, sent via link, to confirm your reservation. A minimum age 25 to book, driver's license copy, matching profile photo and name, full guest list details, and a $200 security deposit hold are required. Guests must meet all of our stated booking and house requirements, and refunds will not be provided for broken house rules or bookings that do not meet these requirements. For same-day last-minute bookings, 4pm check-in cannot be guaranteed and will depend on the cabin's readiness, though we'll always do our best to get guests in as soon as possible.
We keep the cabin in great shape and items may occasionally be refreshed or updated between stays. We maintain everything to the highest standard, but like any home, occasional and unpredictable issues can arise with appliances, utilities, or systems, and we can't offer refunds for circumstances outside our control. A Bear Affair is located in a wooded natural setting, so seasonal bugs, spiders, webbing, and some dust in areas of the cabin may occasionally be present despite regular pest control and maintenance. If anything ever comes up during your stay, just reach out and we'll do everything we can to make it right. For the safety of our guests and our home, a security camera with audio/video capabilities is installed on the exterior front porch of the property.
