Now that the summer hordes have left, you have this idyllic hidden gem of a lake to yourself to enjoy a #fall #picnic

This flower called the trillium is Ontario's national flower making it illegal to pick it. The park is full of these beautiful and rare flowers.

We ventured out again today and came across a few cool places called the Amish Store, Baldersons Cheese Store, and a cute little ice cream and general store in Balderson Ontario.

We continued north to Lanark, Ontario (not much there btw) but did find out about a cool place we decided we are gonna eat at tomorrow called Wheeler's Pancake House.

We took a drive just to check it out and wow it was big! We also found out that it holds the Guinness's World Record for the most pancake artifacts. Which explains their museum they have on site. Will take more photos tomorrow and upload then.

There isn't a whole lot more as we had to turn around because the weather turned ugly. We tried to look for Ferguson's Falls but couldn't find the water fall in all the rain. Perhaps in the fall when we return to camp down the road at Silver Lake.
Life doesn't get any better than sitting by a fire eating breakfast.

So about this park, it's smaller than other provincial parks and some sites have zero privacy. Avoid sites which run along the trans Canada highway because it's very noisy. It's worth paying the extra money for a premium site beside the water because the view is beautiful.

The park washrooms here are well maintained and clean which is awesome!

The park has a few trails from easy to hard levels and has boat rentals right inside the park.

The park itself sits on black lake but is minutes from the town if Sharbot Lake where the town is adjacent to Sharbot Lake and Black Lake. Very small and not a whole lot here.

The closest bigger town is in Perth which is 30 minutes away. They have a Canadian Tire, Shoppers Drug Mart, Dairy Queen, Wendy's and a good micro brewery called Perth Brewing Co.

We will be doing more exploring today so more info will follow.

This park has an alcohol ban on long weekends and excessive noise is not allowed at any time of the day. Which is great if you are looking for a quiet place to retreat.

But... Lots of Mosquitos so bring big spray!
