This property got a HUGE renovation about five years ago, when it transitioned from a Super 8 to Harbor Town. We stayed there then during the transition, and even then, we could tell good stuff was in store.
The staff is super friendly, the rooms all have a theme of nearby Lake Michigan, as well as historical photos of the area, and it all feels very cozy. The rooms and hallways are all hardwood floors, the beds are comfy, and nice toiletries. It's also next door to one of our favorite places to eat, The Four Seasons.
My only pseudo-complaint is the breakfast, which is made to order as requested by 10pm the night before. The breakfast sandwiches are very good, with a few good choices for sides, but there isn't a whole lot of variety. It lacks the usual assortment of cereals and such. And, of course, since it's no longer affiliated with a national chain, you don't get reward points.
Still, this place fairs much better than its nearby competitors (Quality Inn and Days Inn), and I would agree. And in this case, Travelocity's rates were noticably less than even the property's website directly.
Overall a great stay.
