Excellent stay at The River House
Posted Apr. 14, 2024 on HomeAwayThe tiny house is exactly as described. Its small, clean, cozy and comfortable. The location right on the river is fantastic. Being able to have a fire right by the water each night was such a plus. In better weather would be a great put in for canoeing, kataking. Very close many historic sights, unique shops, and outdoor activities. The hosts are very thoughtful, kind and responsive. We will be staying again!!

Splendid short snowy stay
Posted Jan. 21, 2024 on HomeAwayMe and my partner only stayed here for one night, but it was great. The host was extremely helpful in digging me out when I got my car stuck in a snow bank almost immediately after arriving. The electric heater was already on and they'd shoveled out a spot for us to park. It was a little cold at first, but it was also about 18 degrees F outside. Once the gas heater was on and had some time to work, it was plenty warm. I love how downtown was about 5 minutes away, but the property was still in a very mellow, calm neighborhood with a great view of the river and plenty of space between houses.

Definitely somewhere I would like to visit again.

Peaceful spot on the Potomac

Shepherdstown, with a bit of a hill back to the trail in the morning, but it’s a nice peaceful and comfortable little house. The location just next
to the Battle of Shepherdstown site was a bonus for this Civil War buff!

Wonderful Weekend Retreat
Posted Sep. 26, 2023 on HomeAwayThe tiny house is indeed tiny but exactly as advertised and everything I needed. It was adorable, comfy, and clean. The outhouse was not my favorite thing in the world but definitely cleaner than any porta potty I have ever seen. Shepherdstown is very cute with great little shops and cafes. The area was quiet and the river was absolutely gorgeous. And most importantly for me, as a single lady staying there, I felt super safe. I'll be back.
