Excellent service from reception staff both on check in and check out, both times going out of their way to help with rooms and late check out. Fantastic location next to Chinatown and transport and great buffet breakfast. Recommended!

A week in Singapore

This is the second time at this hotel. It is centrally located and very close to the MTR. The staff were able to accommodate my request to have a room with the same outook as last year. It is very much a self service hotel with some staff to help. My room was good with a nice view. The bed was comfy. One negative was that the hot water wasn't that hot in my room on 14th floor and the shower head couldn't be adjusted for height so I had to hand hold the shower head. There were only basic amenities, no conditioner or body lotion but that was a minor drawback. Overall the stay was great, with excellent value for money, and I will return next year.

We had stayed at Furama City Centre years ago. The property has become quite dated. Our room was musty smelling, the whole floor smelt of mould. We had a lot of rain which had leaked through the wall onto the carpet at the lift. Many people complaining of the odour on floor 7. Very disappointed with this stay. The location though was great. The smorgasbord dinner of seafood at the dining looked amazing, would’ve been wonderful but the food was all cold. We told the chef who found that the heating hadn’t been turned on!

I booked a room that slept 2 adults and child, on arrival we were told that we were told that we had to pay a surcharge if we wanted an extra bed in the room for the child or they would have to sleep in the bed with us, this is the first time I have ever been scammed in singapore. And paying the surcharge ment they just brought a portable bed into the same room we had been allocated. The standard of the room is poor for singapore in this price range. I have stayed in multiple hotels within 200 metres of this location in the same price range and this is by far the worst. On booking we received an email saying they will only service the room every 3 days. Other hotels with this same policy all around the world I have stayed out at the very least change the towel and check the toilet rolls, not here. They supplied 2 toilet rolls for 3 people for 3 days, if you required more toilet rolls you had to go and ask at reception for more toilet rolls, taking 10 to 15 minutes by time you que up in the check in que. The hotel foyer is not a public space that you can use comfortably with signs everywhere say not food or drinks from outside the hotel. Overall the stand of the hotel by singapore standards is at best poor, the only thing they the hotel had going for it is a very good location. I feel so strong about this, that this is the very first negative review I have ever given for any hotel or service.

We enjoyed a wonderful 3 night stay at Furama City Hotel. Room was spacious with a very comfortable bed and pillow. Located adjacent to the Chinatown MRT for easy access to anywhere in the city. The breakfast was excellent and evening canapes and refreshments served by Ralph and Ivy was a highlight of our stay.

Check in and out was super quick. Although we had booked a queen and a single, we had two singles and a roll away bed which was a little disappointing. Howwvwe the room was spacious enough. It was a great way to check-in. Ralph Ng was extremely helpful, cheerful, and informative. Having filtered water was plus bonus. The faucet water in the bathroom was very hot, almost impossible to use without burning oneself. The aircon was noisy and somewhat difficult to control. The card to use the elevator was unpredictable and challenging to use. The hotel location was superb and bathroom size is comfortable.

OK stay with good breakfast options

The hotel is OK. Reasonably good value, and for the most part we enjoyed our stay. We did however have an issue- the bathroom ventilation system took it upon itself to blow dirt out of the supply grille. It was cleaned up, but reappeared a few hours later. We raised the issue with reception- but nothing was done about it. A shame-if it was rectified promptly I would have been more confident recommending the hotel. On a positive note, the breakfast selection was huge.
