This hotel has had air conditioning problems for ever. I know this based on my own experience. The air conditioning control would adjust automatically to high temp in the middle of the night.

Great option for short stays

Well located for the Bugis Centre and a short walk to Arab Street (if you can stand the heat!) this hotel is a relatively affordable and good value option being only a 10min taxi ride to popular areas such as Marina Bay. The rooms themselves are clean, well appointed but very small. So if you’re in Singapore to get out and see what it has to offer then it’s a perfect choice, but if you’re expecting to spend time in your room, are staying longer than a few days or need to have a travel cot for a baby, then I’d recommend looking at other options.

I liked the area. It was easy to get to the MRT or to catch a bus. There was lots of shopping and eating areas within walking distance. The hotel was excellent with great staff.

First of all I say that I would be happy to stay here again and recommend the hotel to my family and friends. I have previously stayed in Orchard area and in Chinatown, and I was happy with my choice of this location too as it was walkable to areas of interest to me and plenty of diverse dining options. The room is well designed and appointed as is the bathroom. I was very comfortable staying in the space for 5 nights. Check in was efficient and quick. One minor issue was that when I asked “do you have umbrellas available for guests?” I was told I could buy one from 7eleven next door! I said that’s good to know, but do you have umbrellas available if a guest needs one. I was then told the hotel does have a few umbrellas on a first come first serve basis! The check out was a bit slower than it needed to be as the reception staff member dealing with my check out kept stopping to help a colleague beside him. He appeared more interested in what was happening with the next counter than the check out he was handing, mine. Couple of other issues. The aircon in the room never got the room cool enough, even at night. Which was at times uncomfortable, but at least it was not too cold as I have experienced in another hotel previously. And the elevators (4) were really too slow at the floor level. At the lobby level no problem. But at the floor level the wait was often just too long for a hotel such as this. I did not use any of the hotel on-site facilities. Thank you.
